Andrew Young to Newsmax: ‘Wars Don’t Work’
Newsmax ^ | Friday, 22 Mar 2013 09:50 PM | Todd Beamon and Kathleen Walter

Posted on 03/22/2013 8:51:18 PM PDT by Olog-hai

Former U.N. Ambassador and Congressman Andrew Young tells Newsmax TV that the United States has “got to have better intelligence and better diplomacy because wars don’t work.”

“The only places where we have real troubles are Zimbabwe, Cuba, North Korea, and Iran,” says Young, the former Atlanta mayor who retired last year from the GoodWorks International global advisory firm he founded in 1996. “Russia and China were far greater threats, but we talked to them, we worked with them, we found nonviolent ways to have regime change through evolution rather than through war. What Iran wants and what North Korea wants is respect,” Young, 81, tells Newsmax in an exclusive interview. …

“There’s no military solution. There is a business solution—and the sooner we can provide jobs, not with our money, but the United States has to provide the framework. This is where the creative involvement of the United States comes in,” Young tells Newsmax. “This is what we’re good at. This is what we did for Europe. This is what we did for Japan. This is what we’ve done for much of the world—and we did it without killing anybody. We did it by feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, healing the sick, and setting at liberty those who are oppressed.” …

Would you like to tell that to the white farmers there?

Yup, libtards are moving towards governments killing their own people instead of foreigners doing it.

You know prior to the start of negotiations that [the Norks] won’t keep any agreement you reach, so what’s the purpose of expending time and effort to reach one?

You know that. I know that. Everybody with a brain knows that. But the State Department doesn't know that.

Indeed! and for mine as well! A young man from Scotland - I think he was driven out in the Highland Clearances, but I can't document that at this juncture.

Worked quite well for my ggg Grandfather, an Irishman born in Dublin c. 1835 who served with Battery "C" Fifth U.S. Artillery and was wounded with shrapnel at the Clump of Trees. Worked well for my Dad and a boatload of Uncles and great uncles who served in WWII.

Andrew Young is nothing more than another America-hater who was propelled far above his level of competence by virtue of the color of his skin. Just like the Marxist maggot in the WH.

Where are the survivors of the massacre at Benghazi? The silence of the Obama Regime on this question is deafening!

Fiat Justitia, Ruat Coelum!

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

How is Zimbabwe a problem for the US?

The people it harms is the few remaining Rhodesians who didn’t see the writing on the wall, and the people who got what they wanted with Mugabe, a third world Marxist dictator.

General Douglas MacArthur wanted to take out China from Korea. We have lost much of the peace because we did not take the time to win when we chose to fight (imho). And currently the world thinks they are building our gallows upon which to hang our lady America.

White or Black Tyrant, What`s the difference, Hillary?

Defeating Tyrants is an American specialty.

We`re pretty damn good at it, too.

Yep, it makes you wonder, what do the Andrew Youngs of the world think the proper response to Pearl Harbor would have been??? The proper response to Hitler? Etc.

It’s odd that he talks of the business solution to how we rebuilt Europe and Japan, without mentioning World War II. Is this guy for real????

Amen ... America and Americans are slow to anger but once angry I would not want to be on her bad side.

“we found nonviolent ways to have regime change through evolution rather than through war.”

That nonviolent way was superior firepower and the clear willingness to become very very violent with it on short notice.

Truman firing MacArthur for counterattacking against the Chinese was the beginning of the long streak of US military blunders. Bad enough that China became communist due to US diplomatic dithering.

He could have made a point about how wars are a waste of resources that could be spent on productive economic activities, but the guy just seems to be a mush-headed peacenik.

You can’t say the state of affairs set up by how we chose to fight and conclude WWII is the Cold War’s fault. There can’t be a Cold War without the conditions which set off the Cold War. The Cold War cannot be blamed for its own existence. That was determined by the ling string of stupidities leading up to it.

Sometimes expedience encompasses only having a beachhead. In our recent History we have been content to sit on the beach and not move inland ... so to speak. The failure is not moving inland. So to be on the beach or to not be on the beach ... maybe that is the question our Generals have pondered and our politicians said no. A different time and a different History line and the world would have been turned upside down from the upside down from where it was and is upside down. Probably would have been a longer time of peace though.

There is no f.ing way I will trust this government to start a real war again after the GWB and Obama disasters.

This country is bankrupt from useless wars and welfare that got us nothing but deaths, maimed and debt (and DEMOCRATS TRUSTED).

Lets do what China is doing, they are growing stronger and stronger. Let France do the next unappreciated liberation.

“US diplomatic dithering”

Some of that, yeah. Also espionage. Our state department heavily infested with Soviet agents, Alger Hiss being one. Then there were the usual Rockefeller/Morgan, CFR, internationalist, and pinko sets which hound foreign policy to this day. Their collective goal was to paint Chiang Kai Shek as corrupt and unrepresentative and Mao as a freedom fighter who built schools and hospitals for poor children.

Something similar happened with Castro in the 50s, whereby they pretended to hold out hope that maybe, possibly, he would lean to the West.

Some say Patton was killed deliberately because he was going to report to Congress the atrocities of the Russians whom he claimed were more brutal than the Nazis. (He understood the evil Marxist ideology and knew that most of the Germans had a Christian upbringing and weren’t like the homosexual Brownshirts/Hitler.)

He was outraged by the deals that Washington made with the Russians-—virtually leading to the killing and enslaving of millions which he knew would happen. He was very vocal in his letters that he was going directly to Congress to let the American people know the truth that Washington DC was hiding from them.

We need men like Patton today......but they are being eliminated with the promotion of every type of vice in the military today. Patton would not have stood for the promotion of sodomy in the military or women in combat. All Marxism to the core to destroy the Virtue—needed for great militaries (Machiavelli, Washington).

If it hadn’t been for that little thing called the Civil War, Andrew Young would still be pickin’ cotton in the fields of Georgia.

The Chinese wouldn’t have pulled a hair about Castro’s downfall, and wouldn’t have been able to move fast enough in any case. The OAS would have bitched pissed and moaned, but if they were anything but anti-US in the first place, we might actually pay attention.
