To the Horror of Global Warming Alarmists, Global Cooling Is Here

Around 1250 A.D., historical records show, ice packs began showing up farther south in the North Atlantic. Glaciers also began expanding on Greenland, soon to threaten Norse settlements on the island. From 1275 to 1300 A.D., glaciers began expanding more broadly, according to radiocarbon dating of plants killed by the glacier growth. The period known today as the Little Ice Age was just starting to poke through.

Summers began cooling in Northern Europe after 1300 A.D., negatively impacting growing seasons, as reflected in the Great Famine of 1315 to 1317. Expanding glaciers and ice cover spreading across Greenland began driving the Norse settlers out. The last, surviving, written records of the Norse Greenland settlements, which had persisted for centuries, concern a marriage in 1408 A.D. in the church of Hvalsey, today the best preserved Norse ruin. Colder winters began regularly freezing rivers and canals in Great Britain, the Netherlands and Northern France, with both the Thames in London and the Seine in Paris frozen solid annually. The first River Thames Frost Fair was held in 1607. In 1607-1608, early European settlers in North America reported ice persisting on Lake Superior until June. In January, 1658, a Swedish army marched across the ice to invade Copenhagen. By the end of the 17th century, famines had spread from northern France, across Norway and Sweden, to Finland and Estonia.

It’s the height of human arrogance to think we are affecting the weather.

Ditto.. when I fly and look over the vast expanses of low or uninhabited land/oceans plus the high altitude of the atmosphere it seems impossible that man-made pollution can have an effect on global weather. Now on a small regional basis (like smog, city heat retention, etc..) well of course, but little effect on the oceans, winds and solar effects of global weather.

Libtards blame the global cooling on global warming. From 15-20 years ago.

So everything is the cause of everything. You must follow whatever your liberal betters demand you do.

May 28 and there have only been 2 sunny days to sit in the sun. Right now it is dark and cold again.

Exactly - Libs know how to play with words. But it makes for some real comedy now and then. I was watching a climate alarmist blowhard on TV yesterday who said: "We're losing control of the climate!"

I can't think of a time in human history when we *had* control of it. What loons! They think we're all stupid.

The snow was on a mountain. Heatwave is coming later this week. Check on how much of that snow is left by Monday. I live at lake level. I took the chance of planting my garden last weekend. You can never predict what will happen in May. We had two days that hit 88 F, then golfball sized hail the next day. There were some direct hits on the marigolds, but they’ll make it. Friday and Saturday it will be in the ‘90’s. Humid 90’s. Then we could have an iffy June, or not. Truly, here it’s weather.

What exactly is a fossil fuel? I see references to this frequently, but it should be referred to as petroleum.

The ‘science’ shows on the various cable channels are making fools of themselves. One would think they would want credibility..but I guess not. But then most of the viewers are naive enough to believe anything. And then there is the weather channel..watching one might conclude that we have never had bad weather before!

due to the fact that factory farming has been getting better and better, I believe that the only cause of famine these days is when governments use famine as a weapon.

Even with a lowering of the temperature and a reduction in the growing season in the Northern parts of the World, We should have more farming and growing in the central areas than we have presently. Not to mention all the hydroponic and greenhouse growing.

Living in Cleveland, I have always been a proponent of global warming. It would make the winters shorter and warmer. In reality it would open up vast tracks of previously unusable land in Canada and Russia and make them much more usable as farm land while increasing the seasons in the U.S and Europe.

Warmism is showing itself more and more as highly theoretical, unproven (by any normal scientific standard) worrywartism.

Like I’ve been saying about so many problems today... again, it’s spiritual.

God made the earth to be tuff stuff. Tougher than (taking an old earth creationist view for argument’s sake) billions of years of vulcanism, continental movement, meteor strikes, solar activity, etc. And it comes up smelling like a rose and the critters are pretty much smiling on the main, it is not yet a perfect place but it is a job well done against everything the devil tried to tear it down with, and God says “Very Good!”

Now come the Naturalistic Slyentists consumed with fear that this wet rock is going to go wobbly Any Minute Now and OH MY NON-GOD, IT’S DOOOOOOMED!

Spiritual.

I was downtown today framing a photo of my bulldog ‘Samson’ at my worktable in the basement. Limestone walls. And it was so cold I could have cut glass with one of my nipples, and the 4th of July right around the corner.

So who did this? Well, remember June of 2008 just after the Minnesota primary. In his crowing speech was contained the statement, “This was the moment the rise of the oceans began to slow.”

“Yes we can!” Sure you remember. So if they can do that, lowering Mother Gaia’s hot flashes must be easy. Now they’re blaming global warming on *lowering* the oceans levels, but we’re not falling for that, no sir!

They got hold of the weather machine, or Zero issued a secret executive order lowering the temperature. You can see the culprit by now, I’m sure. That’s right. I blame Minnesota.

....basically because the Sun's magnetic field is declining....leading to less sunspots.

PhysOrg.com) -- Sunspot formation is triggered by a magnetic field, which scientists say is steadily declining. They predict that by 2016 there may be no remaining sunspots, and the sun may stay spotless for several decades. The last time the sunspots disappeared altogether was in the 17th and 18th century, and coincided with a lengthy cool period on the planet known as the Little Ice Age. Normally we plant our garden on Memorial day weekend.

Glad we held off this year including not transplanting anything yet.

We're having a frost right now.

Thanks a lot for pissing off God, Algore.

Now God's cranking down the thermostat (sun) just to show us who REALLY controls the climate.

Should we return to a little ice age, the commie Green enviroweenies will quickly learn that there is nothing man can do to warm the planet just as we are not responsible for earth’s latest warming era. All the man-made CO2 emmissions in the world wouldn’t do squat to stop the dropping temperatures.
