Judge Napolitano: NSA Leaker Andrew Snowden "An American Hero" (Video at URL
Real Clear Politics ^ | 6/10/2013 | Ian Schwartz

JUDGE ANDREW NAPOLITANO: I would describe this man as an American hero, as a person willing to risk life, limb and liberty in order to expose to the American people one of the most extraordinary violations of the American principles, value judgments and the Constitution itself in all of our history.

A person so familiar with the intelligence community, as you just heard from the excerpts that you just played. He's aware of the personal danger to himself. He knows of the likelihood of prosecution. But he also understands that the government listening to half the country is not what was bargained for when statues were enacted in the days and weeks after 9/11...

I agree he is a hero. For the first time, I realized that every call I make is tracked. That isn’t right.

We do not live in a free country if every call I make is reported to the government, showing the number I called, the unique ID of the phone I used and the cell tower I placed the call on, which locates me as I made the call.

The government can track my movements and calls in real time. I have no freedom or privacy.

I would rather die a free man than live as a serf.

“Using Metadata to Find Paul Revere”

Excellent article.

muawiyah has been deluging the threads with his rabid anti-snowden/pro-NSA opinions with quite a fury. I am pretty sure he wouldn’t have liked our Founding Fathers (rebels) very much either. It is pretty clear on which side he would have fought because RED is his favorite color.

You pegged him perfectly.

Remember the white tanks and apc's? on rail sidings? and fenced in areas?

I remember the first story ~ way back in 1969 ~ it was all about the POSTAL CONCENTRATION CENTERS ~ or PCCs.

Those were facilities serving major metropolitan areas where mail of various kinds would be 'concentrated' to dispatch to other cities.

America's then vigorous leftwingtard press wrote hundreds of articles about how Richard Nixon would soon be rounding them up and sending them to the hitherto secret PCCs.

I"m here to tell you that if Nixon didn't send you to a PCC you're probably not going to get sent to a FCC by Obama!

You’re right... need to give the traitor-bastard NSA time to frame him in the sauce they want to cook him in.... China spy.... sure that will work for you.

He seems to have gone to China all by hissef' ~ NSA didn't fly him there.

Are they after him yet? Any APBs out there?

His girlfriend looks like one of the pole dancers over at the 13 21 club.

You choose to shoot the messenger instead of heeding the message.... I don’t. His revelation of NSA spying on American Citizens is only verification of what many of us have suspected for quite some time. Only difference is it shows that it does not matter whether Dem or RINO regime.... New World Order. Sorry I won’t play.

hey, he said he could tap into the President's email at will ~

strains credulity.

The idea that NSA was analyzing telephone records is not particularly new ~ that started the first day the first boss found out that the telephone service bill could be examined to see which employees were cheating by calling people from work!

Do you imagine that NSA wasn't examining phone records, or if they weren't that somebody else wasn't? Good grief, there are a dozen countries on this planet with the technological capaciy to tap data streams to pick up all the billing data ~ which is what is meant by 'telephone records'. Do you think they don't do that?

Google "burn phone." You pay for the phone with a certain amount of calling time on it. There is no plan or accessories. Once used, it can be thrown away. TV shows always have criminals using them.

It’s false patriotism to allow the existence of treasonous activity to hide under the umbrella of classified information.

I may not—and it’s required—that I agree in every respect with what Snowden may have done. He has precious and unique characteristics to what he has xone and points us toward, such that we and our descendants should be forever grateful.

Hey, hey; red is my favorite color — despite the connotations some seem to push on the color Red always comes first in "the red, white, and blue".

;)

No pegging involved, just thought he would find the article interesting, because he is often a thoughtful poster. He replied with a similar article at #101.

(Courtesy to ping anyone you refer to in a post. I sometimes forget, too)

I suspect strongly you are an enemy agent who wants us to drop our guard and get back quickly to a pre-9/11 point of view.

Have you read the FISA Warrant? Here is an interesting portion of it:

"The Order does not require Verizon to produce telephony metadata for communications wholly originating and terminating in foreign countries".

This is the FISA Warrant.

The warrant appears to take us back to the pre-9/11 point of view. This time our government is at war with us and not the jihadis.

What if he has been kidnapped by Isalamists, who will torture him for information.

Bottom line: I rest my case:
