Men like Ted Cruz make me wish I were a Texan.

Well, as the old saying goes, "Texas isn't so much a place, as a state of mind." Welcome, friend.

May I assume that you DESIRE a tax on INCOMES vs. the FAIR TAX levy on CONSUMPTION and might enjoy having these cretins now in power dictating your behavior (i.e., running your life).

Would I rather a flat-rate tax on income than another graduated/socialistic* (and therefore by its nature more complex) system? Yes.
The more complex things are the greater the opportunity for abuse. A flat-rate is so dead simple that that morons can use it.

* That stupid prebate idea.

A flat tax would clear out 75% of the IRS.

Except Congress won't be able to stop themselves from mucking it up over time ... little carve-out for this here, little exemption for this there. It will morph back into what we have, IMO. 25% IRS is still too much.

People with more money to spend will spend it, and the tax

The Progressives will not be satisfied unless they can charge the rich a higher rate.

Come to think of it, that may be how they introduce us to the beast.

You will have to carry a buying permit based on your income or wealth, in order to identify your tax rate.

Why on Earth would we want the progressives to be satisfied?

I don’t give a fig whether they are satisfied or not, and neither should any Conservative care about them except to dismantle the communist mess they’re trying to establish in our country.

Let them kick and scream and roll around on the floor. The plain fact is that “the rich” will pay higher taxes because they spend more money.

What I like about Senator Cruz, is that he ticks off my enemies. I heard him on Rush’s show yesterday and was so happy to be able to vote for him twice already. If he keeps that up, he will always get my votes.

"Is it permissible to agree here?"

Yes. I'm rather new in tax philosophy, but I am a states rights enthusiast. What do you think about the states initially taking over responsibility of collecting taxes and finish existing audits? This should pacify the various State Society of CPA’s, the AICPA, the CMA’s and alllllll the various attorneys that lobby; they'd go home to do their jobs instead of staying in D.C.!

This is how republicans get the label as STUPID AND OUT OF TOUCH...geez. Most people know you have to collect a tax to run a government, cleaning up a bad hospital, an oil spill or a bad pilot in the Air Force does not mean you DESTROY it or get rid of it...YOU FIX IT!!

What the heck is wrong with folks, end education, end EPA, that just feeds the story line - republicans want dirty water and stupid kids. For forty years (40) education in America run by democRATS has fueled that message and smart guys like Cruz are not helping. Fix the IRS make it simple but END it??? Low information people are not smart enough to figure out what would be next!!

There are things people at IRS do that would still be needed to be done if you abolished the agency.

It's better to just ABOLISH the federal income tax system. Then downsize.

A final act would be to rename it something else.

Why would you trust Warren Buffett and his small army of tax lawyers to tell the truth?

I don't trust Warren.

Not just abolish the 16th amendment, but fix the constitution so Congress has authority to levy taxes on EXPORTS.

Inasmuch as our biggest economic problem is higher and higher levels of productivity, we will soon reach a point where we are the world's lowest cost producer of most everything.

Mechanization, automation, computerization, robotics and improved work methods are displacing human workers by the millions every year.

We need to be prepared so that when we are the lowest cost producer we can pass the tax burden along to the foreign buyers!

Currently we can't, but that makes no sense.

All federal employees who are in what are called CONFIDENTIAL jobs are prohibited by law from being represented by a union.

Those jobs start at about GS 12 where they are no longer eligible for overtime.

The people reviewing applications for non-profit are not in the same wage board categories as brick layers and hod carriers ~ they far higher than that.

Most IRS employees are not agents and have nothing to do with making decisions.

About 85% of the US population are not paying personal income taxes ~ Romney was wrong ~ BTW, he's now a coupon clipper who cashes in his municipal bond collection for current cash needs. So he doesn't pay personal or corporate income taxes. Warren Buffett is almost as bad.

Don't you ever check out the statistical drivel spoon fed by the MSM and their wannabees?

Envelope openers, stuffers, stackers and photographers associated with huge conveyor belts and mail processing equipment are a substantial part of the IRS operation ~ then there are the ash and trash guys.

Getting rid of this stuff ~ tax filings ~ is all confidential, so you don't just hire a trash company to come in and scoop it up. Taxpayers prefer secure storage and secure destruction.

I'm not attacking Ted Cruz. I'm offering constructive criticism.

I'm not going to refrain from pointing out flaws in his plans just because he has a little R next to his name. That kind of thinking is what has flushed this country down the drain.

I wouldn't stab him the back like the GOP does to conservatives. I would attack directly and openly.

And what does Ted Cruz have to do with the Presidency? He's not eligible. He would make a fine Senate Majority Leader or Texas Governor though.
