The following script is from "Benghazi" which aired on Oct. 27, 2013. The correspondent is Lara Logan. Max McClellan, producer.
When Chris Stevens was killed in Benghazi, Libya, on the anniversary of September 11th last year, it was only the sixth time that the United States had lost an ambassador to its enemies. The events of that night have been overshadowed by misinformation, confusion and intense partisanship. But for those who lived through it, there's nothing confusing about what happened, and they share a sense of profound frustration because they say they saw it coming.
Tonight, you will hear for the first time from a security officer who witnessed the attack. He calls himself, Morgan Jones, a pseudonym he's using for his own safety. A former British soldier, he's been helping to keep U.S. diplomats and military leaders safe for the last decade. On a night he describes as sheer hell, Morgan Jones snuck into a Benghazi hospital that was under the control of al Qaeda terrorists, desperate to find out if one of his close friends from the U.S. Special Mission was the American he'd been told was there.
Morgan Jones: I was dreading seeing who it was, you know? It didn't take long to get to the room. And I could see in through the glass. And I didn't even have to go into the room to see who it was. I knew who it was immediately.
Lara Logan: Who was it?
Morgan Jones: It was the ambassador, dead. Yeah, shocking.
Morgan Jones said he'd never felt so angry in his life. Only hours earlier, Amb. Chris Stevens had sought him out, concerned about the security at the U.S. Special Mission Compound where Morgan was in charge of the Libyan guard force.

These loser pigs are abusing our heroes and that’s what gets me so angry. Where are the Scoop Jackson Democrats?
Hillary hates the US military. I could tell you stories that the media covered up of her FUBARs regarding uniformed military. She’s a superjerk and that’s the most I’ll say. A vote for her is a vote for Hell and its master.
Its even worse than that, let us never forget the seen at the airport when Obama and Clinton used the coffins of our dead hero's as props to sell their "video" lie to the American people.
agree
I wish I could disagree with you....but I believe you are correct and.....I am dead wrong!!! Most of the Republican Party folks have no spine or backbone, and just cave in to Obama, the abetting murderer of USA public servants in Libya, and RINOs making nice with this hateful traitor, POTUS Obama, SATAN, himseelf!!! Can you just imagine the fear, terror and hopelessness that consumed these innocent patriots at Benghazi, while Obama chilled out, relaxed and could care less about them. Ditto for Hillary Clinton!!!
“She sounds like she thinks we are all 2 yrs. old. typical of most main stream media. They think they have to explain it to us little people.”
Exactly. And she’s obviously trying to sensationalize any aspect of the story that she can.
How bout the whole of the R party, refusing to do business until some heads roll... love Trey, but I don’t see him or anyone else holding a 24/7 vigil till there is some resolution or a bloody fight ensues....
Gets me fired up all over again....
And we also know that, within thirty minutes of this conversation, Clinton initiated the protest demonstration/anti-Islam video cover-up via Twitter.
It seems a reasonable assumption, then, that the subject of the phone conversation between the President and the Secretary of State was the formulation of a baseless lie to camouflage the actual circumstances of the attack.
Evidently, the only action the President took regarding the Benghazi attack at the time it was underway was to authorize the issuance of a cover-up based on a known falsehood!
CBS's 60 minutes 'missed' the above... right? I wonder why...
Tell me again why we haven’t heard from General Ham? He is one person who could clarify a whole bunch of stuff. So far as I can tell: crickets. In my view he’s not wearing his stars very well. Another job for the next president is making sure all these cut-and-runners are earning their retirement checks by cleaning up their last FUBAR.
“Nobody in the chain of command below President Obama can countermand his standing orders not to send outside military forces into Libyan air space”
They can if they want to do what is right and face the consequences as a patriot and American hero instead of a Bammy enabler.
I don't think he was asleep for five seconds. He and VJ were watching the whole thing live. Waiting, IMHO, for the MB to capture the ambassador, to trade for the Blind Sheikh.
I think the whole thing was a put-up job that got people killed because Al Q'aeda works with live bullets, Barack al-Obama with mumbles and equivocations (unless he's baiting Those People).
They'd have had to chain Dubya to his desk, to keep him from being the first guy off the helicopter, with his people in a jam in Benghazi. He'd have done a Teddy Roosevelt up San Juan Hill, and not just for a photo op.
There used to be Democrats that felt that way, too.
