Pit bull likely ate owner's hands

Two days after a dog bit off a woman's hand and her other arm, sources said her hands were likely eaten. And police said they had been to her home in the past for problems with the same dog.

Wilton's animal control officer had been called to the home of 65-year-old Anne Murray twice, both times on complaints that the pit bull had roamed off the property, police Lt. Don Wakeman said Wednesday.

Police have also come to Murray's home several times to arrest her 26-year-old son, Ian, according to state court records. Ian Murray was given a five-year suspended sentence after he was found guilty of a 2005 robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. He was also found guilty of violating his probation in 2010 in connection with that case.

On Monday morning, a town police officer shot and killed the dog in the driveway of the home after it attacked Anne Murray.

Wakeman declined to comment on whether the 2-year-old pit bull, Tuxedo, had eaten the victim's limbs, but another law enforcement source said that most of the flesh and bone the animal ripped from the victim was not recovered at the scene. "Use your imagination as to what happened,'' the source said.

Murray lost all of one arm and the other up to the elbow in the attack, and suffered bite wounds all over her body, police said. Passing motorists saw the dog in the street and stopped to call 911. Murray was found under a car in her driveway, trying to shield herself from further attack.

Murray is recovering from her injuries at Norwalk Hospital, where her son, Matthew Murray, said Tuesday night that she was awake and hopeful of a full recovery.

This is `why we run over pit-bull every chance we get and/or arrange for a free anti-freeze cocktail. Biker gang(s) in OR/WA hunt them down after one attacked a biker and caused an accident. Kill ‘em all !

Me either, but if some geneticist created a 100+ lb chihuahua I would be more scared of that then a pit bull.

We have a female Chi, and she bullies our English Bulldog, our little Frenchie and yes... our Newfie. They won’t go near her food bowl, or try and lay on the bed, that’s HER territory, lol.

She is ready to attack anyone that comes in our gate or home. We have to put her away when we have guests. But to us, she’s a cuddle bug, sleeps between me and the wife every night. But she’s ready to throw down at the first sound of a strange noise at night.

Bravest dog I have ever owned.

...And if anyone wants to know, the guy shot his finger off with a Springfield XD...

(and if you’re really curious, middle finger, while cleaning it, no I don’t know him IRL)

No one is saying that every pit bull kills people every single day. So that’s your straw man argument.

If you read about a dog that ripped off and ate the owners limbs, it’s gonna be a pit bull or pit bull cross. Pit bulls kill more people than other breeds and the carnage and mayhem they cause traumatizes first responders and medical teams, not to mention owners and family members. Some defenders say it’s the media sensationalizing pit attacks - uh NOPE. No sensationalizing needed - stripping flesh off owners and eating it is sensational enough for the media. If only it wasn’t the breed that kills the most people and shreds the most flesh! The problem is, so many owners have been killed and maimed by members of this breed - you never know which ones are going to keep eating food out of their bowls and which ones are going to bring down an adult in their prime. Yup, statistically pit bulls kill more adults in their prime than any other aggressive breed.

I played paintball a few times at indoor places. I got a double welt...someone double tapped me and I had a welt on top of a welt.

But I felt worse for the guy I unintentionally shot in the throat. Right under the mask [un]lucky shot.

I had a few shots on my inner leg from them frozen paintballs trying to run away once we learned that they were frozen rock solid.

I felt like I had really been shot, it made my toes tingle. The worst was the GINORMOUS bruises that developed the next morning. It looked as if I was hit with a meteor.

We got even with them though, one of my employees had a bunch of magnets made that said “Honk for a free Blo* J*b” and he went over and stuck em on all their cars on a friday night. :)

And it’s sure not like a liberal to assign the same characteristics to an inanimate weapon that works only with human guidance,

You see this is my one and only problem, IT IS HUMANS GUIDANCE that has damage SOME of this breed. But the demand for the entire breed to be eliminated is predicated on the breed not the humans that guided the breeding of animals for hostility, so to an extent the breeders of the damaged animals are just like the person who pulls the trigger on a gun. First it was Dobermans, then Rottweilers, now Pits. Eliminate the pits and the human animal will just pick another breed to damage so that they can feel macho.

Played paintball a few times myself. One guy on the other team tried a Starsky & Hutch style slide down a big piece of plywood connecting the mezzanine with the first floor where I was, legs up and apart and firing between his knees.

In my haste to defend myself I unloaded an entire magazine into his crotch. He did make it out of the game under his own power.
