Not all fires burn long enough to char the whole pile, at times it has to be “helped” that it is the same for the UN-ACA..
In politics, if your opponent is melting down or destroying themselves, you should just get out of the way and let it happen.
No need to try to defund Obamacare, or try again for repeal, or any of that. Just look at these poll numbers, and you are seeing that many moderate and more independent voters are turning strongly against Obamacare and the president.
However, the GOP should be ready to explain what alternatives they have in mind. The liberals and the media continue to charge that the GOP has NO plans for healthcare, NO alternatives to Obamacare. The message has to get out that there are plans, and are alternatives that the GOP would like to implement.
Let everyone feel the pain of this God-forsaken plan.
I will relish it as they voted this turd back into office to destroy this nation.
The most important thing the Republicans can do is to fight ONLY for repeal and when the Democrats attempt to pivot simply say “we will allow no legislation to pass until Obamacare is completely repealed.”
ONLY 7% LIKE IT AS IS.
It will burn..but it might take out the whole town with it....at some point you have to jump in and try to stop it and get back to some normalcy...try is the key word....this will leave holes all over the place..
Actually, the “let it burn” strategy is much stronger now, after the attempts first to shut it down by defunding it, then to delay it by a year: the ‘Rats really, really own this disaster. The GOP, whether conservative, libertarian or RINO, can all run on the fact that the party tried to stop this, tried to give them another year to get it right, but the ‘Rats were willing to shut down the government to force this man-made disaster on the country. (Now get busy primarying the RINOs that it’s only conservatives (and in deep blue states libertarians) who are running in the general to benefit from this.)
Sit by and let the government hurt the people. When this thing gets repealed, another overreaching government program will replace it since insurance as we know it will no longer exist. Lead from behind. Where have we heard this strategy before?
How about Congress demand an end to Obama’s illegal decree delaying implementation for business. All those policies were supposed to be ending now.
Throw another million logs on the fire and burn the Democrats down. End the delay. End those policies now. End the illegal decrees now.
BURN.
Now is the time for REPEAL...it can happen but for the cowardly GOPe.
Good political strategy but a dereliction of duty. Cruz was absolutely right. As an elected public official, he had an obligation to use whatever means available to change policy that is harmful to Americans. History will be far kinder to Senator Cruz than the MSM and Hollywood clown parade that disparaged him on Obama’s behalf.
If the GOP gets caught “helping” it, they will be legitimately accused of arson. “Let” it burn.
Trying to force Reid and Obama to help repeal Obamacare by shutting down the government was a plan that was doomed to failure from the start, and everyone involved knew that.
Instead was more like an extended loyalty test game that united Dems, fractured GOP, and drew all the attention (all negative too) to the GOP by the news media.
Need much better than that to survive as a nation.
To the GROUND! No help, no interference, no NOTHING.
Exactly.
The GOP should stay out of the fray and stay silent while this debacle continues (which would have been the prudent strategy in October)
Once you see consistant 60%+ opposition to this debacle, bring out a market based alternative
Good advice. The GOP needs to communicate a simple checklist of what they want to do and sell it.
the alternative is FREEDOM
