I’m pretty sure McDaniel would have been happy to have Ted Cruz come in any time before the election, but my understanding is that Cruz has chosen to stay out of races where the incumbent GOP senator is being challenged. I believe it is some kind of commitment he made to party bosses.

I saw it a mile off that Hispanics are a chaotic voting bloc. Makes it even more stupid that Repukes are chasing their vote. That being said, they should have triumphed here. A testament to what a smooth political crook Rangel is.
MS will be a loss, unless McDaniels can win a write-in.

In this instance, it was real — the establishment attacked McDaniel with advertisement and flyers depicting him as a racist.
A conservative has to admit the difference is beyond huge. It is treachery against one of their own.

Buying their votes is fraud. If big money can walk around in a trailer park with a $50 bill to whoever will vote for “your guy”, then voting means nothing. It just goes to the highest bidder. Cantor already tried outspending on ad buys; it didn’t work. If the NRSC has learned that $50 bills can win elections, then “winning” candidates will forget all about campaign ads and the issues, and just buy the election straight-out.
And that’s what may have happened last night. The ad buys using the “racist” meme were just cover for what really got the supposedly-apathetic dem voters off their butts. The only thing that ever does: money in the pocket.
Also - yes, it is voter fraud to get somebody to vote in the MS Republican party if their intent is to vote for the democrat in the general election. That’s what the statute says. You can only vote in a primary election for the party for which you intend to vote in the general election. So yes, this is absolutely voter fraud. It’s just non-provable because you can’t prove intention.
I don’t know about you, but the LAST people I want to associate with are those who intend to do whatever crimes they can get away with because the crime can’t be proven. That’s Lois Lerner on steroids, and just as stinky.
Conventional wisdom is that the ntl latino vote is a nothing 10% for the forseeable future.....also explains the surge at the border.
Does MS even allow write-ins? I don’t think I have heard of a write-in campaign there. TX and SC allow declared “write-in” candidates.

Well Cruz is a lot more principled than every other politician up there. He and Mike Lee were really the only ones that stuck their necks out last year to try to defund Obamacare. But I think if you were in his shoes, you would see the kind of immense pressure every GOP senator is under to “play ball” with the leadership. Rand Paul has already sold out by backing Mitch, but Cruz angered them by refusing to do the same for Sen Cornyn in his re-election bid. But I did hear that he committed to them behind closed doors to not involve himself in any election involving a GOP incumbent senator.
Bottom line is I don’t like that Cruz apparently made that commitment, but I don’t see that as a reason to throw him under the bus. His still among the best we got up there, and it’s ultimately up to us to send more like him to Washington.
Is there no Republican on the MS ballot worthy of your interest on Nov. 4? If so, vote for that person and just leave the Senate race blank.
