Yeah I saw that also.

Ferguson police had wanted to release the video Thursday, but it held off when the U.S. Justice Department asked it not to, arguing that doing so would increase tensions in the community, the source said.

Yet the city’s police chief released it Friday, the same day he released the name of the officer who he says killed Brown, 18, minutes after the alleged theft.

Never trust the MSM again.

I believe it’s more like, the government sent a different, more efficient police there, so since they can’t do anything, we did all we could. Plausible deniabilty. I am not kidding, the Hiway patrol tapped the local police to serve warrants because they didn’t how to do so. Also, because the knew they were out of their jusisdiction (State road or an Interstate). I always told them “you knock on the front door, I’ll take the back.” They knocked, ID’d themselves and out the back the door came the perp. I’d knock the shiite out of him, handcuff him and give him to HP. But I had to book him and give him over.

Pull all police out, cordon off the area and see what happens.

It will quickly descend into a fourth world country. People will be begging for law and order.

I doubt that it will have a large effect on cost. The payout will be fairly small and the insurance companies are ready for it.
The are not burning down high rise office buildings, just mom and pop stores.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is more than a Highway Patrol; MSHP functions more like a full service state police agency...I stand corrected on the functions of Missouri’s “Highway Patrol”. Why don’t they call them “State Police” then?

Young’s Market Company - a huge Los Angeles liquor distributor - hired a ton of armed rooftoppers to guard their premises. Even L.A. Cold Storage, next door, did the same with some volunteer employees.

I’ve been having conversations with people on this topic and they don’t believe it will play out this way. I just keep pointing to ferguson and other places.

Handing out “military equipment” doesn’t militarize the police if the police aren’t trained to use it as a military force.

Which Army base are local cops “militarized” at?

Because you take away the “military equipment” the cops would still use the same tactics.

This “militarizing of police” is a red herring until you can tell me which military base all local cops are indoctrinated & trained at to be a military army.

” Because at this point all I hear is hypocritical armchair quarterbacking.”

The anti-cop crowd is very good at that.

Big,brave guys(and it’s mostly guys) banging away at the keyboard and criticizing the “jackbooted thugs” that face the slime day after day.

TANSTAAFL. Somebody is going to pay for it, and for some of them, and for some of these "mom and pop" stores, it will be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Since 1995 the California Highway Patrol has taken over all the responsibilities of the California State Police, which no longer exists by that name.

It used to be the case that the Highway Patrol had jurisdiction only on the highways.

Well to be fair to the Ferguson police this is not new. The cops have stood back and let the natives do the watusi in their own neighborhoods since the beginning of time. All over the country.

I believer the new HMFIC, the black State highway patrol CPT, is playing it very loose and dangerous. This stupid governor gets what he deserves, too. This entire city should have been declared a state of emergency and the NG should be in charge.

Apparently playing Hug-A-Thug doesn't work
-if I was a member of the "community" and I knew a moron like State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson was in charge with probable orders from above that, no matter what, no African American is to be harmed-I would go on the shopping spree of the century.
