Want robots at McDonald's? Hike minimum wage: Zell Matthew J. Belvedere | @Matt_Belvedere Wednesday, 3 Sep 2014

Video

Federal and state efforts to increase the minimum wage are misguided and pose serious risks to the economy and the job market, billionaire Sam Zell told CNBC on Wednesday.

"The tinkering with the minimum wage is a very dangerous game," the chairman of Equity Group Investments said in a "Squawk Box" interview. "You start talking about a $13 or a $15 minimum wage, and you're going to have robots that are operating McDonald's."

Why do you think that you are pumping your own gas and bagging your own groceries?

The dirty little secret that politiclowns won't tell you is no matter if you hike the minimum wage or not there will be automation that replaces workers at Fast Food places and most other jobs.

Raising the minimum wage will just speed up the implementation.

“Fast food workers are getting 12 to 15 dollars an hour in Williston North Dakota without a union. (Rent runs from $2200 to 3 grand a month (2 bedroom apt.), but that’s beside the point).”

Yes, I have a buddy that is a rancher in the Bismark area. He tells me that Walmart has to bus in people to fill the temp jobs. And Walmart has raised prices accordingly.

My friend also says that housing is unavailable at anything other than high prices.

All due to the oil boom in ND.

It’s like the Gold Rush days when the only people profiting were the businesses catering to the workers; prostitutes, bars, casinos, and today add the narcotics -pot dealers and used car dealers.

Typical tactic for all leftists. There are 3 primary scapegoats for anything that goes wrong: President Bush, Republicans and the “evil rich” a/k/a “evil corporations” or “evil rich white people.” Blame any one of them and the morons will buy it every time.

The narcotics/pot dealers may be making some money, but the really good paying jobs are subject to random drug testing and pre-hire testing.

Not many people are fool enough to risk a $60K (starting) and up oilfield job over getting a buzz on.

So, much of that traffic is going to the service sector and others who aren't subject to testing.

My daughter has a BA in Graphic Design, and 11 years’ experience as a Graphic Designer. Upon arrival in San Diego she discovered that Graphic Design jobs, those few that were available, paid about $10/hour, some even less. Of course these employers want entry-level employees, but that’s a topic for another discussion. Under Obama most wages have been depressed, so how can a burger flipper justify making more than someone with real skills and experience?

WaWa and Sheetz have been doing this for years. There are always at least 4 kiosks in each store and I have never had to wait in line for one. Love it.

This is no secret for the Left.

All part of the Obama's 'Transformation of America' plan, which is progressing, moving forward and will be soon be unstoppable.

These people never heard of Horn and Hardot a restaurant chain where all food was put in serving windows where you put your money in and opened the small glass and took your food.

. That's the old Automat concept.

"This is also about taxes."

Thanks, hadn't considered that. I think it explains a good portion of this madness.

McDonald's To Launch NFC-Enabled Mobile Payment And Ordering App: Report

By Maria Vultaggio@mariamzzarellam.vultaggio@ibtimes.com on September 02 2014 10:22 PM

McDonald’s will roll out a mobile payment platform on Sept. 15, 9to5mac.com reported Tuesday. The fast-food giant created the mobile ordering and payment app in an effort to increase sales at U.S. restaurants, specifically among people under age 34, AdWeek.com noted.

In practice, a machine used by McDonald’s would be a lot simpler, as they centralize patty production to get their ideal blend of steer meat and milk cow fat, then freeze their patties. Their french fries are also processed and seasoned in a complicated manner before freezing.

Probably the most labor intensive part of fast food is the rigorous and frequent cleaning of everything, and this is where technology will matter the most.

iRobot Roombas and Scoobas will likely be produced for commercial use, which will require some floor redesign so they can hit every nook and cranny, first with vacuuming, then with wet cleaning with strong solvents. Store cameras going to a computer could direct it all

After paper products are removed from the restrooms, they can get potent directional cleaning and rinsing sprays with the water flowing down a large open drain. Again, requiring restroom redesign and computer camera direction.

The important thing is to realize they can’t do it all with just robots. There are many tasks that are just unsuited for robots, from cleaning windows to emptying garbage, and cleaning and restocking the machines.

Florida Food Chain Imposes Obamacare Price Hike

Customers paying a one-percent surcharge
By Victor Luckerson @VLuckFeb. 27, 201413 Comments

A restaurant chain in Florida is now forcing customers to pay a little extra because of the new health care reform law.

At least eight Gator’s Dockside restaurants in central Florida are now charging patrons a one-percent Affordable Care Act surcharge for their meals, the local CBS affiliate reports.

“The costs associated with ACA compliance could ultimately close our doors,” reads a sign posted in affected Gator’s restaurants. “Instead of raising prices on our products to generate the additional revenue needed to cover the costs of ACA compliance, certain Gator’s Dockside locations have implemented a 1% surcharge on all food and beverage purchases only.”

Hope they force this issue, it will become a very teachable moment.

The people actually driving this know exactly what will happen. They WANT it to happen. They WANT people to have no way out of welfare, EVER.

I am now seeing the protest signs pushing for unions as well...

What these morons fail to realize is the vast majority of fast food restaurants are not owned by the corporations, but by small business people ...

Unions will never get their foot in the door...

And do you wonder why now that Obama, Democrats and the Left want open borders for the thousands of illegal aliens, (new workers), to be granted amnesty? All part of the plan.

Two of the McDonald’s by my office don’t have English speaking workers. It’s so infuriating I called their corporate headquarters.

Buy by my house, when the chicken wings came out, I asked for the 5 wing order with honey mustard. I got the box and there were three wings, no sauce.

The idiot chick couldn’t explain the shortage but said they had no honey mustard, so just left it ut.

You have to EARN $15.00.

But we are floundering to Liberalism.
