The further one digs into today's "blockbuster" jobs report, the uglier it gets. Because it is not only the participation rate collapse, the slide in average earnings, but, topping it all off, we just learned that the future of the US workforce is bleak. In fact, with the age of the median employed male now in their mid-

Oh so now 1 month before an election we get the “fudged” job numbers bringing the unemployment rate down below 6%?

And, the job creation just happened to be in the 55 to 69 age group which is the most important voting bloc?

SURPRISE SURPRISE......NOT

Another propaganda blitz, Nobama makes the speech about how great the economy is, and voila.... unemployment fudged numbers show drop.

Looked around lately and seeing the number of business and stores closed, empty malls?

They probably just need the extra money to pay for their Adult Children still living at home. Nothing to see here, all is going according to our plans.

We know a lot of people in that age group, who lost their full time jobs and now are working part time.

People, our age with Medicare are great hires for businesses. We are well educated, reliable, speak and understand English and appreciate a job.

It is my experience that older workers tend to have better language skills, math skills, and are more reliable than the young punks.

Greeters at WalMart?

Not sure all of them hired on as Wal-Mart greeters. A few of them probably did though.

The fascinating thing here is that, if we are to believe the article, employers during this period decided that it was a better business bet to hire the oldsters rather than the young'uns. I'm not sure about this, but it could be that the 55+ crowd probably has some notion of how a workplace is supposed to function, as opposed to the younger folks, who appear to be terminally self-absorbed and who also seem to think that the office is just another place where they can indulge their smart phone addictions. They don't seem to be able to take their eyes off their little digital displays long enough to do the job the employer hired them to do.

The more I cogitate upon the matter, the more sense it makes.

Unemployment Drops to 0% as Last Worker Leaves Labor Force
The People’s Cube ^ | May 3, 2014 | Opiate of the People Posted by 4Liberty

Comrade Barack EObola today became the first to achieve a milestone coveted by enlightened central planners everywhere when the Bureau of Laborious Statistics announced the much-followed totally-meaningless “headline” U3 unemployment rate for last month was ZERO PERCENT! This means that the glorious economic recovery he engineered after the disastrous Bush years has now attained FULL EMPLOYMENT!

It is a tribute to Professor EObola that he was able to find the Holy Grail which eluded history’s greatest economic thinkers such as Lenin, Stalin and Mao. This landmark achievement along with his establishment of free healthcare for everyone via the Affordable Care Act cements his reputation as the Greatest Leader in this or any other universe for all time.

The dramatic moment occurred at 12:03 PM, four weeks to the day after Lyman Yilk, a pipe-fitter from Bittcling, Pa, finally gave up looking for work. Mr. Yilk has been unemployed since 2005 but was on a celebratory bender since the day after Mr. EObola’s first election and did not know that the Keystone Pipeline (which Mr. Yilk was hoping to find work on) had been cancelled due to environmental concerns. When he finally sobered up four weeks ago and learned the project was dead, he abandoned his search to find a job.

Mr. Yilk was the last worker to leave the labor force and turned the lights out as he left. According to the BLS definition:

Quote: U3: Official unemployment rate per the ILO definition occurs when people are without jobs and they have actively looked for work within the past four weeks. Without Mr. Yilk, there was no one actively looking for work any longer, hence the U3 rate was now ZERO PERCENT, praise EObola!

Gloom-and-doom naysayers were quick to note that the labor force participation rate had also dropped to zero percent which (according to them) was not a good thing as it meant no one was employed. Comrade Nancy Pelosi countered their racist, straw-man argument brilliantly by observing that it also meant no comrade was any longer “job-locked” and each was free to be an artist, writer, hooker, etc, and pursue their passion.

“There is no underestimating this tremendous achievement of Barack EObola” said Paul Klugeman, an expert on hiding declines and fudging economic statistics as well being the self-proclaimed “Conscious Liberal”. “Comrade EObola has achieved the socialist dream of freeing all of The People ™ from the slavery of work and permitting them to live off of someone else’s dime as god, if he existed, would’ve wanted.”

Dr. Klugeman was asked if a problem would arise due to the fact that since no one was working, there would also be no one to pay for the benefits that all the non-workers were collecting.

“Nonsense”, he proclaimed. “The Fed will simply print money for artists and writers and hookers to use to buy things from China! What could go wrong?”

It seems so simple now, it’s a wonder no one ever thought of it sooner.

“The genius of Dear Leader Barack EObola lies in his simplicity”, said Dr. Klugeman.

We agree.

Or, perhaps the older folks already were insured on Medicare and didn’t need expensive company insurance?

You are somewhat right. Many adult children and their families are ending up with the parents because of the crap economy, massive layoffs and the general lack of anything other than at or near minimum wage jobs.

Most aren’t going to let the kids and grandkids starve or go homeless. Happened during the great depression and it’s happening again during this great depression.

Now, as then, vote for democrats and you get bent over the table for your efforts.
