That ‘judge’ who went with the family to their new, hidden bunker in an undisclosed location, might be having second thoughts about his goodwill gesture of being in the vehicle with them.

essentially a third-world environment

True, I was thinking that people with better nutrition here might incubate a bit longer (but I have no idea).

On Tuesday, Duncan's son Karsiah travelled from West Texas to try and see the father for the first time in 16 years.

Another son in America and by another woman. Just, wow. How many more will be crawling out from under the woodshed?

(but I have no idea).

No worries. Don't think anyone else knows either.

Once they have the headache, muscle pain, etc, they are infected enough to infect others. At that point there is a lot of virus in the blood, but there is already some in the saliva transferred through the salivary gland. However there are also enzymes in saliva that kill the virus. I’m not sure how soon they can sweat out virus, but saliva shows virus early.

So, this Flu season should be very interesting.

If you are sick, why would you want to go to the emergency room to potentially be exposed to someone infected with ebola and if you ARE infected, by time you do go to the doctors office/emergency room, you've already potentially infected your entire family... Maddening!!!

I don't mean to sound like Marvin the manicly depressed robot when I say, oh what's the point? We're all going to die anyway...

It’s going to raise the fear factor among the public and make it a lot harder for Precedent Obola to continue allowing travelers from infected countries to enter the U.S.

No. Duncan being dead is out of sight, out of mind for obola. He'll claim it is an isolated case and it'd be just like the other healthcare workers we brought back, yada, yada.

Ok, I misread that supposedly he has another son by Louise according to this article. Hmm, first we've heard of this guy because the 13 year old in quarantine was claimed to be their only son. Stupid reporter tricks on this second guy?

I would not be surprised at a sterilization bombing or massive aerial spray.

With what? You know of something that kills Ebola without killing the carrier?

Or did you imagine killing all life in the area?

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden said Tuesday that Duncan had been intubated and was on dialysis, and remained in "critical condition." The Dallas hospital was focusing on keeping his fluid levels and electrolyte balance maintained, he said.

So they filled him full of Gatorade while he inevitably checked out. And how much do we spend on the CDC? Aren't they the ones ignoring the ongoing and behavior-specific AIDS crisis in the US? Like Obama, they're skilled at lecturing, less so as practitioners.

Tom Frieden has, in a matter of weeks, easily surpassed Sebelius, Tavenner, Clapper et al as an obstinate government stooge serving a political agenda despite his title and duties.

I am not comforted by his death. Actually I am sad for him. But his dying doesn’t simply mean one less vector for Ebola.

It means we failed. A US hospital failed to save someone. That is scary.

I know, it’s not the best hospital, and they failed sending him home not taking it seriously, but I would think even pretty early they had a decent chance if saving him.

That does not feel good, scary that if we get it, epwe may indeed be in trouble.

As PJ O’Rourke says, if you really want to help poor Africans then stop sending them your tacky old clothes.

I noted that the announcements regarding experimental treatments were not mentioned until after the Reuters report on Sunday that he had died.

Has it ever broken out in a less humid climate? West Africa is wet.

The southeast USA, from D.C. to East Texas, is similar to West Africa, as far as humidity and temperature. Right there in N.C., the Great Dismal Swamp is pert-near jungle, and upstate the Smoky Mountains are one small notch short of a rain forest. North Carolina is wet AND sticky.

Don't you feel better now?

So far we have the “travelled from Africa” filtering system in our favor. Any symptoms of any sort plus “traveled from Africa”, then you are in the quarantine room until your test results come back. But once the virus is loose (hopefully the contacts in Texas stay healthy), that quiz question is no longer meaningful and we cannot quarantine 10,000 people every day across the country. So at that point the few positive Ebola people will be let go and go infect other people.

There was story this morning that it was to upsetting for family to see him last night with Rev Jesse. This guy’s probably been dead since Israeli news let cat out of bag couple days ago. Just had to make it look like guy was breathing for family till Jesse and bamster could line up an extortion plan. Hasn’t corrupt Mayor been calling shots for the family, arranging new home? If he could arrange that from a wealthy anonymous donor, couldn’t he arrange for other things? Seems like a lot of things are being controlled by a very small group.

A US hospital failed to save someone.

That was a given. Once the Ebola virus is freely reproducing in the blood vessel walls, there is no saving that patient except the patient him or herself. The best modern medicine can do is give the patient a little more time to fight it off.
