“And played it badly”
The woman had excruciating headaches, repeated seizures and memory loss. So somehow, withering away in agony toward irreversible, certain death would be preferable?

I agree. I pray Ms. Hill has parents and others around her that love her enough to fight with her. I know it is hard to believe in miracles in this world we live in, but they do happen.
We must never give up on God. I know it is easy to type that but in the darkest hours of fighting a terrible disease, God is there.

"I got mixed feelings about this. I suppose if I was in the end stages and there was nothing but tortuous pain. Still, even then, it just seems like suicide of any kind is the ultimate SCREW YOU to God." If one is seriously going to worry about God's opinion in that circumstance, maybe a screw you is called for.

Once again, as I stated above, hospice care can be sent to your home. If you don’t want visitors, you don’t have to receive visitors.
I don’t know where you got the idea that hospice doctors are “government doctors” (????).
For the record, I’m not a fan of hospice. But, Brittany could’ve opted for hospice care at home.

Three of my grandparents thought so. One had a brain tumor, the other dementia, and one had so many physical maladies the doctor's couldn't believe he was still alive. In their misery, they still saw things through to the bitter end. I'll never forget their love or dedication. They had faith it was part of a final cleansing before they came home to the Lord. If someone recommend they murder themselves, they would have punched them in the face with their remaining energy.
They are my role models to this day.

Killing yourself is not ‘spreading good energy’.

Another thing that is disturbing with this case is people holding her up as a hero, or doing a courageous act. I have witnessed people dying of cancer who fought to the bitter end. They were courageous! They showed true heroism in their battle with the disease. They're my heroes, too. :-) My father, many relatives, in-laws, and one young friend - all fought to the very end.

Thank you for posting your thoughts. I can relate.
Our world seems to forget that suffering is a part of life. I do not like it. I at times would lash out at God as I witnessed my family members suffering in the last stages of their lives. But God can handle my weak moments. And I always knew my loved ones knew this was a part of life and Glory awaited them. And like you, they never would have even considered having someone murder them.

She could’ve opted for hospice.
But, no, she decided to use her story to help push an agenda - one that involves patients being sent home with suicide pills.

May God have mercy on her Amen.
To: EternalVigilance
What? She was dying of a brain tumor. If you’re going to say that god takes an interest and intervenes in people’s lives then some people might understandably be a little peeved at the circumstance she was in.

If you think you know better than God there’s pretty much no limit on what you might do.

"If you think you know better than God..." That really wasn't even close to the point.

It’s the only point to this whole thing.
People trying to play God.
That never ends well.

She only made a decision for herself. It is ended.

You want to live in a country in which the individual right to life is not considered to be unalienable?

This country is screwed if a supposedly conservative website has so many assisted suicide law advocates on it.
