Ticket splitting is for the birds.

I’m glad it gave us the MN House though.

As of this post time:

Senate: Republicans have locked up 52 seats, ahead in 1 more  (66 needed for a two thirds majority / super majority)
Senate: Democrats have locked up 43 seats, ahead in 2 more

House: Republicans have locked up 244 seats, ahead in 4 more  (291 needed for a two thirds majority / super majority)
House: Democrats have locked up 178 seats, ahead in 9 more

Governors: Republicans have locked up 31 seats, ahead in 0 more
Governors: Democrats have locked up 16 seats, ahead in 2 more

I would like to invite folks to use the Los Angeles Times Senate, House, and Nationwide State Gubantorial candidate breakdowns.  It's a fairly good indicator of where things are headed.
Note: Make sure ALL is selected.  Then you can click on Senate, House, or Governors
These categories show current wins and gains.
(Ex: Republican = 44 +4 / Democrats = 38 +2)  Note: + denotes leading in that many races in addition to already locked up

My comment;

I think I saw it [Charlie Brown Dance Video] but spent most of my time clicking from one TV channel to another. Since I have to use caption I can’t follow both TV and the thread at the same time.
Gonna head to bed and hope tomorrow brings even more good news.

Your comment;

I call BS!!! Coffee Pot is brewing. His would be too if he was a leader. NOT

---------------------------------------------
I'm confused. Did you post to the wrong people?

Hope and Change have come to America. CT is the only state that remains behind the iron curtain? Maybe VT & RI, too.

“I would like to see the what the law actually allows for ID.Acceptable IDs to vote in Virginia include — but are not limited to —”

Here ya go:

Valid Virginia Driver’s License or Identification Card.

Valid Virginia DMV issued Veteran’s ID card.

Valid United States Passport.

Other government-issued photo identification cards (must be issued by US. Government, the Commonwealth of Virginia, or a political subdivision of the Commonwealth).

Valid college or university student photo identification card (must be from an institution of higher education located in Virginia).

Employee identification card containing a photograph of the voter and issued by an employer of the voter in the ordinary course of the employer’s business.

A Virginia Voter Photo ID Card obtained through any local general registrar’s office.

—— without producing ID that falls within the above, a voter may cast a provisional ballot. They are given X days to produce proper ID to get the vote counted; otherwise the provisional ballot doesn’t count.

It was a competitive seat, held by the GOP in 2010 and lost in 2012. He’ll be vulnerable for 2016, so will have to get out and work the district.

Mia Love’s near defeat was a fly on the apple pie. I do think that she’s too unconventional for many old-line rural Mormons, while many in the Salt Lake City area remained true to the ‘Rats.

I hope she runs for statewide office (after Hatch retires, for example), as I think she’d play better statewide and ‘Rats won’t run a serious candidate.

“I’m glad it gave us the MN House though.”

last night, I was intently watching the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website for this state House races.

In the metro area, the GOP was able to flip only one seat from Dem to GOP. We lost all the rest - including a couple of open seats where it was thought the GOP candidate had a chance. Almost all of our losses in the metro area were close ones.

It was in the rural areas where the GOP really started to knock off Dem incumbents - especially southern, western and north central Minnesota.

Truth be told, a number of these rural Dem incumbents were voting like metro area liberals and it came back to bite a number of them in the butt.

Not surprisingly, many of these pick-ups where in areas where Jeff Johnson and Mike McFadden were doing pretty well. I’d need to examine the numbers in more detail - but I wonder if there was a small coat-tail effect on some of these races?

Let me go over some California races

Congress:

CA-3 Tom McClintock won 60% against a faux moderate. Great news.

CA- Doug Ose edged out freshman ‘Rat Ami Beri, a pickup

CA-16 Veteran ‘Rat Jim Costa may have lost. He trails by about 700 votes.

CA-26 Julia Browmley (D) and Assemblyman Jeff Gorell (R) are in a virtual dead heat. It’ll go into overtime.

CA-52 San Diego Councilman Carl DeMaio leads ‘Rat freshman Scott Peters by about 750 votes.

State Senate

CA-14 Cherry orchard owner Mike Vidak won his first full term with 56% in a district that voted for Obama twice.

CA-26 “Birth Control Activist” (whatever that means) Sandra Fluke lost by a landslide. Unfortunately, the winner is a fellow ‘Rat.

CA-28 Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone won a newly created district that includes Gold Base, as Scientology center. Critics of Scientology dislike Stone for some reason.

CA-32 This district voted 70% for Obama, but Republicans almost elected a Senator there. Downey Mayor Mario Guerra won 48%, a spectacular showing for a Republican.

CA-34 Great news, Orange County Supervisor Janet Nguyen becomes the first Vietnamese-American woman state legislator, winning 60% against an opponent who outspent her. She’s one to watch!

Here are a few more House races:

FL-2 Democrats may have unseated Steve Sutherland. Gwen Graham leads by a little over 2,000.

FL-26 Carlos Curbola unseated Joe Garcia by with 52%, less than I had hoped.

GA-GA-12 Rick Allen unseated John Barrow by 55%-to-45%, better than even Republicans had expected.

HA-1 A disappointment, Charles Djou narrowly lost his attempt to return to Congress, but in a district that voted 70% for Obama. Liberal Mark Takai won a 52%-to-48% victory.

Three runoffs in Louisiana:

Senate- Mary Landrieu won only 42%, less than even Republicans had expected. I don’t see how she wins this.

LA-5 Voters kissed Vance McAllister goodbye. There will be a runoff with Democrat Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo. The Republican will probably be physician Ralph Abraham.

:A-6 Another runoff, with Fast Eddie Edwards trying an improbable comeback. The Republican nominee is state Coastal Protection Authority Chair Garrett Graves.

Terry is not a RINO IMO, but I think it is a good message that beltway insiders can lose in November if they sell out or dont vote conservative enough.

It is funny Terry bashed the Dan Frei on amnesty. Then when Cantor lost 3 weeks later, Lee Terry was denying Cantor lost because of amnesty.

I said it once, I’ll say it again, it’s time to cut Hawaii loose from the country. See how long their experiment with Communism lasts as an independent nation.

Some more House results

AZ-2 Right now, Martha McSally leads Democrat incumbent Ron Barber by 36 votes. Anything is possible at this point.

IA-1 Not only did Bruce Braley lose his race for the Senate by surprisingly large margin, but his successor in the Housse will be a Republican. Rod Blum narrowly became the district’s first GOP Congressman since the 1980’s.

ME-2 Not only did Michael Michaud lose for Governor, but conservative businessman Bruce Poliquin upset state Senator Emily Cain, who was expected to win comfortably.

NE-2 Lee Terry was defeated Democrat state Senator Brad Ashford, who had run in 1994 and lost the Republican primary. Terry was a moron who largely engineered his own defeat.

NV-4 Great news, Assemblyman Crescent Hardy unseated ethically challenged Democrat by about 3,600 votes.

NY-25 Veteran ‘Rat/abortion enthusiast Louise Slaughter leads Gates Mayor Mark Assini by less than 600 votes in the Rochester area. A pickup here would be tremendous.
