I guess they get VT radio and TV. I have campaigned all over that area and they are not overtly liberal like VT. I find it to be peculiar.

I guess many work in VT and live in NH for the tax break, if there is one or have transplanted from VT. Guess rural libs hafta live somewhere and VT was getting crowded.

So, Hogan’s margin in MD Governor appears to be about 9 points. He got 53.8%.

Erlich’s margin in 2002 was less than 4%, 51.55%.

Agnew’s in the 3 way race in 1966 was just under 9 points, he got 49.5%.

In 1954 RINO McKeldin won by 8.92% and got 54.46%. (he won 57%-43% in 1950)

So this is the biggest GOP victory for MD Governor in a long while.

Only 3 GOP Governors before McKeldin, 2 won very narrowly. Dude in 1895 won 52%-44%.

Western Red Hampshire is referred to as ‘East Vermont’...the area around Dartmouth is WAY out on the fringe left...close to Berkeley-level insanity. I got into it up there with a female moonbat years ago...we were arguing about an art gallery, which she kept addressing as a sentient being. What a freaking psycho.

Wow.

And Dartmouth used to be the Republican Ivy.

GOP keeps 5-4 edge on Salt Lake Shitty, I mean CITY Council. A Republican woman is elected.

Rats gain ONE seat in the Utah House.

Thanks. I’d bet the immigrant problem, if it affects the VA election, will be with the ‘dreamers.’ The young folks seem to have more interest in the US political process. The older ones are too busy working to get involved. At least that’s what I’ve observed.

On one of the election threads someone mentioned the inability to track electronic votes. At least with the new system in effect in Fairfax County, it’s ALL paper ballots fed into an electronic reader. BUT the paper ballots are preserved and packed into a security sealed box before being returned from the individual precincts to the county electoral board office.

So, if there’s an actual canvass in Fairfax, they can check every last ballot cast. I read that it will all come down to Fairfax. I think that has more to do with its being the most populous county. However, if a recount in Fairfax is needed, it will be a simple enough thing to do (time consuming but simple). And, hopefully, one of the cross-checkers will detect any of those double voters.

Embarrassing margin for “him”, clearly it was only close last time because the incumbent (defeated in the primary by Moulton) was unpopular. He polled well though.

Hogan’s margin in MD was nowhere near 9%; it was 4.62%. The New York Times and media outlets that share info with it gave overcounted Hogan’s total in Ann Arundel County by 80,000 (!) votes. The MD SoS site has Hogan carrying Ann Arundel by 113,970 to 54.133 (66.63% in the county for Hogan, which is as good as one would expect in a county that doesn’t give GOP presidential candidates much above 50%), and statewide the SoS gives Hogan 847,280 to Brown’s 771,242 (for a 51.46% to 46.84% margin). http://results.elections.maryland.gov/elections/results_data/index.html
The NYT, by giving Hogan 193,970 votes (instead of 113,970) in Ann Arundel (someone mistyped a 9 for a 1), gave him over 77% in Ann Arundel (an absurd percentage) and thus turned his actual 4.62% statewide margin to a fantastic 9%.

So, basically, Hogan ran about even with Ehrlich’s 2002 run. And the NY Times sucks.

“..NY-25 Veteran ‘Rat/abortion enthusiast Louise Slaughter leads Gates Mayor Mark Assini by less than 600 votes in the Rochester area. A pickup here would be tremendous.”

It would be terrific if she is out of politics! Here’s hoping.
