I don’t fly many commercial flights anymore but when I do I always have in the back of my mind the pilot.

Is he/she the best of the best or did he/she meet the minimum standards and HAD to be hired to meet some quota requirement.

Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Charlie Rangel are prime examples of worthless senior citizens pseudo leaders of the Rats, who are no longer relevant in America with their ancient hate America BS.

“Level playing field? There’s no level playing field in these professions. You either have the ability or you don’t. There is no affirmative action here. Besides, my son’s hard science courses were filled with Chinese, Indians and other Asians. He was one of twelve caucasians in his class.

If a Black is qualified, they get hired. Talent is highly competitive. It’s as simple as that.”

Bingo! Companies like Google are identifying bright and hard working young people regardless of race/sex or whatever at the junior high level. Google sends its scouts out to Math Olympics and Odyssey of the Mind events to find future hires. Google isn’t the only company doing this.

Top colleges which have relevant degree programs, like Stanford, are identifying students in the Junior high level and inviting them to attend workshops and programs at Stanford.

You are right. There is no level playing field in those fields.

It’s like “I want a level playing field in the NBA” ... more white players.

The Bell Curve is the academic and well documented reason there is not more diversity in Silicon Valley.

Auburn Calloway comes to mind.

I think either he or Sharpton tried that before and they got their backside handed to them when Silicon Valley, via media outlets like San Jose Mercury News, said “Excuse me but we have people from all over the world working here, starting their own businesses, some of them sleeping under their desks to write the software to found their own companies” (paraphrased of course). The response from Silicon Valley was that the region is HIGHLY diverse and people of all nationalities go there and either fail or suceed based on the work and their ideas etc. That was a big splash several years ago. I guess the race baiters retooled their approach and want to try again.

Not reverend Jackson, but irrelevant Jackson.

Somebody stick a fork in him and hang a "Done" sign on him.

“Jackson is promoting the idea that Silicon Valley firms, who have billions of dollars in offshore bank accounts that bypass U.S. taxes, could invest some of those funds in education and scholarships to train people of color as programmers and engineers”

Jesse, the U.S. already spends over a trillion dollars a year for education. If that’s not working to create “people of color as programmers and engineers”, then why would you think a few million more would make a difference?

30% of your workforce must be comprised of black people without the slightest idea how to write code.

Bullseye!

Truth is that many Anglo Americans and Latinos are to the left on the curve to the Asians. One doesn't hear Anglos and Latinos complaining.
