I asked how many senior patriots are willing to give up SS in the name of freedom. Based on the majority of the replies the answer seems to be not many. Who deserves their government check and who does not? If we are to reduce the size of our government there will have to be a reduction in the number of people getting a check from the governemnt.

If it makes you happier I will also call out teachers, cops, firemen, veterans, disabled, widows, and orphans. There is no way we can fund all of the deserving people’s checks and still be free. Unless you believe paying 50% or more of your income to the government is freedom. So if SS is sacrosanct then all of the others must be as well which means we are not and will not be free and the idea of a revolution is a joke.

” This has been decades in the making. The left has infiltrated, corrupted, and subverted the institutions that had, up to now, served as pillars supporting freedom, democracy, and prosperity. “

30+ years. Now it is up to us.

” Can Republicans keep majorities in both Houses of Congress during Presidential Election years, and can Republicans win the White House?

I CONTEND that if they fail to turn back Amnesty, in all forms, to include the form the Republicans envision, they’ll never have the White House again and never another Congressional Majority.”

I don’t think they care. Much safer to be in the minority.

1) Divide up the pork with the democrats.

Big money, no pressure.

Well, much more clairified response.

If you paid into SS, that is not welfare. It is, in fact, your money.

Fact is, the givernment is doing the financial planning for those over 65, or whatever the retirement age is.

If you want to reduce the number of people getting checks then welfare seems like a much more reasonable place to start and a few other “entitlement”(hate that effin word) programs.

It migh5 interest you to know that if you don’t want SS because you are financially well off but, you want Medicare as a fall back, in case the world somehow gets so screwed up you are no longer wealthy, you must take SS.

FK’d up huh?

I know this becauee I was discussing reform with some private jet monied people and while they have private insurance and pay for those things they want out if their pocket, they set themselves for catastrophic events as well.

As far as being satisfied with paying 50% of my income, I am not very happy about it.

I’ve been paying the too rate for 30 years and expect that over the next few years that the type of income I recieve will change and reduce that obligation considerably.

I personally don’t believe SS will be there if I ever retire and couldn’t care less if it isn’t.

And I’m no where near the so called retirement age. Additionally, I can’t recall even thinking about retiring.

I like to do stuff and knowing what I do about those with private jet money, they ain’t retired.

They’ll say they are but, they ain’t.

They just like doing things and now they do things they never could have.

Go after the chimps who actually don’t produce anything for the economy and reduce spending on schools.

If the parents aren’t involved them kids will be stoopit no matter how money you throw at em.

And parasites create disease anyway.

Kick em to the curbs

We are probably about the same age. The worst possible age. We have paid in the max but are still have enough years to go that that it will be broke when we reach retirement age.

And I will take it, but I at least like to tell myself that if I had to live in squalor I would if it meant defunding the SS monster along with the other welfare programs.

We will disagree on that point since I believe SS is welfare. All of the words about trust funds, contributions, earned benefit, etc. are just lies by politicians to hide the fact that SS takes money from one person and gives it to another. It is, what FDR envisioned it to be, a middle class wealth transfer scheme that would make its recipients into a government beholden permanent Democrat voting bloc.

SS is a ponzi scheme.

Welfare and like programs take from someone, like the thief they are and gives it to another.

I don’t really think about my age or anyone elses.

Well, I saw Mare Wininham on some program the other day and I thought “whoa! Whut happened to her!!???”.

So I looked up Mare and she ain’t but a few years older.

WTH???

I’ve got lady friends 10 years older than her and they look great.

Oh well, I got blessed with great skin too.

No one dies with wrinkles in our family.

We just die of old age.

Sheesh. Chick is in Hollywood. I had a real thing for her in the 80’s.

I’d think she could get Fraxle and a few other procedures.

Maybe not.

I do not see 50 guilty votes in the Senate. Much less 67. Probably 40-45 guilty. No, I would have to say impeachment is off the table.

Impeachment is not up to the Senate, judging the validity of the Articles of Impeachment drawn up by the House is their only responsibility.

Unfortunately, Speaker Bonehead and soon to be Majority Leader McCoward don’t have a freaking clue.

Why must we always presume that the reason our leaders do the things they do, is because they are stupid?

An alternative view might be that the voters who put them into place are too stupid to recognize that they have voted to put their own enemy into power.

In my mind, we owe them whatever pensions and benefits Congress deems equitable and compensatory.

You realize that Veterans draw Social Security right?

Do you seriously think the House would draw up articles of Impeachment knowing the Senate ain’t gonna get a majority guilty votes much less the 2/3 required.

Unlike the “I am so much smarter than you” crowd, (of whom you seem to be a life member) I credit most folks with knowing basic Civics.

What I think is not relevant, it is their duty to make the High Crime and Misdemeanors know through Articles of Impeachment. What the Senate does with the evidence is up to them.

I credit most folks with knowing basic Civics.

And yet that knowledge seems to escape you.

Go back into your basement and STFU!

You get that talking point from Tokyo Rove?

Just because I understand what impeachment is, you claim that makes me stupid, you on the other hand insist on being willfully ignorant.

Once more the Senate has no part in Articles of Impeachment. The articles are investigated and drawn up in the House and referred to the Senate. The Senate then will take a new oath different from their oath of office, and set as jurors during the trial, if they actually let one happen, unlike what Lott did. The Chief Justice is sworn in as President of the Senate to preside over the trial, and it is a trial. They will then vote yea or nay, just like any other jury, with the exception that the vote does not have to be unanimous for a conviction.

The important reason the House can and should start impeachment hearings is to gather and document evidence that may be helpful in stopping this imperial president, maybe even dissuade future tyrants. But with voters like you, maybe I am being too optimistic.
