Berkeley is a very beautiful area. It is mostly for the affluent.

These Berkeley clowns don’t live in the real world. Berkeley is only 10% black. These wealthy liberals feel pretty safe acting like clowns. The liberals idiots in Austin, TX felt safe having their little protests. I would like to see them take their “in your face” protests to some real black neighborhoods. These wussies would never be the same.

I’ve got several black neighborhoods I will invite them to protest. 99% of them would never show. The 1% that did would not likely ever show up again.

Why don’t they protest the institutions that lead to such inequality in America? Namely, the University itself.

Even though he was a Democrat, Mayor Daley of Chicago knew how to stop protests

All this protesting in white areas is wierd. Why aren’t they protesting in Oakland? That’s where the black people live. Is it because black people understand this is BS better than white liberals do?

They make their noise in a very safe and insulated world.

I could make arrangements for any of those ignorant cowards to make their noise in the hood. Once they got a reality check, they wouldn’t be coming back for more.

I was in Berkeley during the People Park riots in 1969 . Same s#it ; idiots running wild in the streets , trashing everything in site and setting lots of fires . The big difference was that the State fought back . APC’s , concertinia wire , NG soldiers with live ammo , tear gas from helos overhead and LOTS of arrests . The big difference was a gentleman named Ronald Reagan as Gov of Calif. The rioting punks these days are actually manipulated by our radical infested Gov and encouraged by them . It’s a very dangerous precedence being set . And we tolerate it .....

I don’t understand how screwing up a bunch of people’s commute is supposed to win them over.

50 good motorists could end this protest in a matter of minutes.

These a$$holes endager people and disrupt cities and libtards yammer aobut rights and free speech.

Conservatives can’t even protest outside a clinic without getting physically attacked. Colleges won’t allow conservatives to do anything on campus but spend hundreds of thousands on liberal speakers.

Media libtards have no problem with this.

Imagine how much different it would be if 1000 conservatives were doing the exact same thing. Imagine the libtard response. they’d be screaming it’s the beginning of civil war II.

It’s a well known fact that when liberal men attend a lot of the same meetings together, their ties will tend to synchronize.

From the article,

Danielle Fung, 30, was one of more than a dozen who linked arms and stood on the tracks to stop the slowly rolling train while one blew a conch shell and the others yelled, “Shut it down! Shut it down!” She said she felt like stopping a train represented power.
“We’re standing up for what we want, standing up for ourselves,” she said. “We are bringing attention to humanity.”
Navid Shaghaghi, 30, of Berkeley said blocking a locomotive perhaps had even wider reach than blocking a freeway.
“By shutting down this train, it will delay the rest of the trains in the Bay Area,” he said. “Now everyone will be asking, 'Why are the trains delayed?’ Because of the protesters. Unless we’re free, we will prevent the system from operating.”

These people are obviously deep thinkers. < /sarc>

The 13 or so people need to be arrested, allowed to go through withdrawal, and shown how to work to survive.

I've had it with these whiney children distracting decent people, their lives, their families, and their businesses.

ARREST THEM!

They think disrupting others’ lives will make them popular.

Al they succeed in doing is in driving people away.

I’d advise them to keep up the good work.

I don't pretend to understand the mind of a rioter, but my guess is that the rioters' interest is more in general disruption and vandalism than in trying to replicate a Fergusonian Experience by going to A Black Neighborhood.

(If they're telling the truth in their signs, chants, and interviews, apparently some of the protesters are more interested in generic goals like "bringing down the system.")

The unpeaceful marches have tended to start around such places as the plaza outside Oakland City Hall (the center of those Occupy actions) or the university campus. Maybe there's some symbolism involved, but these places are also practical hubs. They're convenient to reach, and nice intact targets are nearby.

The travel patterns are also similar to recent precedent, such as peaceful Occupy and peaceful "anti-war" protests. (If there's going to be an unplanned protest march and intersection obstruction in San Francisco, expect it somewhere around Mission or Market streets, if not both.) The protest du jour tends to taste like the one from yesterday.
