These numbers remind us of the extent to which the continued Jewish commitment to the Democratic Party has become an anomaly. All the other ethno-religious groups that, like the Jews, formed part of the coalition forged by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the 1930s have followed the rule that increasing prosperity generally leads to an increasing identification with the Republican Party. But not the Jews. As the late Jewish scholar Milton Himmelfarb said in the 1950s: "Jews earn like Episcopalians"—then the most prosperous minority group in America—"and vote like Puerto Ricans," who were then the poorest.
Jews also remain far more heavily committed to the liberal agenda than any of their old ethno-religious New Deal partners. As the eminent sociologist Nathan Glazer has put it, "whatever the promptings of their economic interests," Jews have consistently supported "increased government spending, expanded benefits to the poor and lower classes, greater regulations on business, and the power of organized labor."

And here is the kicker that should concern ALL conservatives.

Mormons received a 47% favorability rating, Muslims 41.4%; the group described as “Christian Right” was viewed in favorable terms by only 20.9% of Jewish Americans.”
Someone who is visibly evangelical, like Cruz or Palin, is not going to be an easy sell to that demographic.
No republican is going to be sold to a demographic that has never voted republican, and that is solidly liberal and anti-Christian.

As for “when did I become an American”? Well, at the moment of my birth to my American mother and my American father. I certainly pay enough American taxes, too.

When I was a kid, I used to be a guide for Christian tourists in Bethlehem (which is a PA site and quite dodgy -— easy to get mugged or worse if you get lost).
They clearly love G-d in their way, and worship G-d as they were taught. Good wonderful people, regardless of theological differences.
Not many anti-Jew types like the poster in question make it to Israel, I guess.
Anyway, I was often pros-i-l-what-ever-it-is-spelled, and while it could get annoying, I took it as it was meant -— sincere and loving. I was amazed that strangers cared.
The troll poster is much more akin to the muslims in Gaza than the many Christian pilgrims I’ve met: all hate and anger, and incapable of fine reasoning.
Cruz is very much liked by Orthodox Jewish voters.
Palin is viewed as a nice lady, but not overly bright.
