Rand Paul: Most vaccines should be ‘voluntary’ By ADAM B. LERNER 2/2/15 2:42 PM EST Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) waded into the debate over vaccinations Monday, telling conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham that he thinks most vaccines should be “voluntary.” Paul, an ophthamologist and likely 2016 White House hopeful, expressed particular concern over mandatory vaccinations for sexually transmitted diseases. He criticized former Texas Gov. Rick Perry for his executive order mandating that Texas children receive the HPV vaccine. “I’m not anti-vaccine at all,” Paul said, but “I think that’s a personal decision.”

Why should I listen to anything a stinking ambulance chaser has to say?

My grandmother died in 1916 of Typhoid fever. She was only 21 years old and left behind three children. My dad was only two weeks old when she died. Her death caused serious repercussions in the family life for 70 years.

Today there is a vaccine for Typhoid fever.

The best ally the Conquistadors had was European diseases which the Indians were not immune to. Today there are vaccines to prevent all of them.

Why take a chance!

Wow, have you somehow confused ‘ambulance chaser’ with ‘whistleblower’?

Here goes:

“Merck has known for a decade that its mumps vaccine is “far less effective” than it tells the government, and it falsified test results and sold millions of doses of “questionable efficacy,” flooding and monopolizing the market, a primary caregiver claims in a federal antitrust class action.
Alabama-based Chatom Primary Care sued Merck on Monday, the week after the unsealing of a False Claims Act complaint two relators filed in 2010.
Those relators, Stephen Krahling and Joan Wlochowski, were Merck virologists who claim in their unsealed complaint that they “witnessed firsthand the improper testing and data falsification in which Merck engaged to artificially inflate the vaccine’s efficacy findings.”
Krahling and Wlochowski claimed Merck’s scheme caused the United States to pay “hundreds of millions of dollars for a vaccine that does not provide adequate immunization.”

I don't have children. And if I did, I am sure that they would do just fine. You know why? Because I look at things in a logical way. Unlike some lemmings.
Being as the shingles vaccine can be administered starting from age 50 or so, then you would have life long immunity, because your life span is shorter. You are not going to outlive the shingles vaccination.
We know that chicken pox does not reoccur after getting the disease.History tells us that. . But now, we have changed the dynamic by introducing a vaccine that can make a big crisis in the future as previously vaccinated adults get chickenpox because their vaccine wore off.
i would rather have my child get chickenpox as a child, just like I did, and everyone else in my age range, who grew up before the chicken pox vaccine became available. We all managed to survive. There were even chickenpox parties back then.

You assume imaginary consequences!

It is vastly more likely that those that get vaccinations spread disease.

Vaccinations all contain live virus of more than 60 different strains. Carrying these viri in your blood stream makes you a walking ‘typhoid Mary.’

Come on, why cut off the rest of the statement? If you’re going to quote his statement, finish it...

‘’I want to be absolutely clear that I believe vaccines have saved and continue to save countless lives. I would never suggest that any parent avoid vaccinating children of any race. Vaccines prevent serious diseases, and the risks associated with their administration are vastly outweighed by their individual and societal benefits.’’

This drama over vaccinations is another way that the leftist totalitarians cover their tracks because the real reason for this issue is the illegal aliens.

An easy task, with 99.9% of the media as willing accomplices.

Well from what I’ve heard from family and friends it was a simple decision for me. I DON’T want shingles.

“It is exactly like treating all americans as potential terrorists in order to stop islamic terrorists.”

No, it isn’t like that at all.

Just about every person is, in fact, at risk of Hepatitus infection. Perhaps not as an infant, but they will be at risk sooner or later.

And every single climate, weather and geology paper published in the past 20 years has the same statement about anthropogenic global warming.

The fact that he LIED in the paper that supposedly closed the door on the association is the most important part.

Clearly he has religious belief in the matter and his belief system allowed him to ‘adjust’ science to match his beliefs.

Much like the global warming true believers do in their ‘research papers’.

>> “And Public Schools and the like have the right to set their own admission standards. No vaccination, no admittance.” <<

Sorry, but no.

Government does not have rights.

Government has a need to act responsibly, and requiring vaccines is grossly irresponsible, often deadly.

The real question is how many of his OTHER papers contain ‘adjusted data to match his religious belief system’?

Logic is a very rare commodity in today’s world! If we all would use some, this wouldn’t be an issue.

If we could get rid of the nasty, disease-ridden illegals, this wouldn’t be an issue.

Excellent insights and I’m hopeful that Cruz’s legislation is truly pro-commerce and not just political pandering. We need more free market, not less.

This is the part of the statement that was all about CYA and most likely crafted by his attorney.

Another thing, one reason the Whistleblower came out is because he had been recorded by Dr. Brian Hooker acknowledging that he participated in Cover Up and Corruption at the CDC.

***There are medical reasons to not vaccinate a child ***

Which would you rather do? Take a chance on a complication from a vaccine?
OR place flowers on a small grave for the next 40 years because your child died of a preventable disease?

*** A child who is already vaccinated does not have anything to fear from a child that is not vaccinated.***

TRUE, BUT what if YOUR CHILD is not vaccinated, mine is. My kid goes down to an third kid’s house and the kid has spots all over him. He plays, then leaves and plays with YOUR KID.

The bacterium or virus on his clothes is then transferred to your kid.
END RESULT, The other kid dies, your kid dies, my kid lives because he has been vaccinated.
Would you feel better about it?

In 2015 America is so dumbed down they are all idol worshiping 100% of the time.

Your right, but be careful. Sometimes innocent beliefs and choices can lead to death as in the case of a longtime friend of mine who refused to have either a flu or a pneumonia vaccination. He died as a result of viral pneumonia.

What people fail to realize is that there are NO ABSOLUTES.

I’m still in favor of smallpox vaccinations mainly because there was found a live vial of the virus a few months ago in an unguarded lab.
All they had to do was break the vial.

I wonder how many other forgotten vials of Smallpox are floating around.

POLIO vaccinations? YES!
