Would this Dem Ticket be unbeatable in 2016 (Vanity)
April 11, 2015 | Din Maker

Posted on 04/11/2015 8:59:41 PM PDT by Din Maker

OK, I admit it; I'm really scared. IMO, our last hope is to elect a "Ronald Reagan" style Conservative in 2016. Another four years of having a Saul Alinsky disciple in the White House will totally finish destroying this great nation that many of us knew as children and for most of our adult life. Now, what scares me is this:

There is "talk", like it is already a foregone conclusion, that the Dem Ticket in 2016 will be Hillary Clinton and HUD Secretary Julian Castro. I'm wondering; would that Ticket, first woman POTUS and first Latino VEEP, be unbeatable? And, if that is going to be the Dem Ticket, what can we do to stop them from winning? I know that many FReepers abhor the very thought of "Identity Politics", but, what about a Latino candidate for Prez (The name Ted Cruz comes to mind.) and a woman VEEP? Our culture is not demographically tilted for our team to win on principles and ideology; we're outnumbered. Thank God that most DemocRATS don't vote because, on Election Day, they're in the crack house, the jail house, the half-way house, or the HO house. But, the last two Presidential Elections proved that we can no longer count on that to pull us over the Finish Line as victors.

I’ve been encouraging FReepers to contact their State Reps. and State Senators and try to get bills passed in Blue and Purple states that would award the EVs by Congressional Districts; rather than the winner-take-all system. That is Constitutionally doable. What say ye?

Why not hitlary run as president and billy as vice president?

The VP has to be eligible to serve.

” the Dem Ticket in 2016 will be Hillary Clinton and HUD Secretary Julian Castro”

lol. That’s a “send in the clowns” ticket if there ever was one.

The Republicans ought to be glad that the Democrats are too far Left to nominate James Webb, who could appeal to blue collar white voters. You know, the base voters that the GOPe routinely pisses on after each election.

“In January of 2008, nobody thought Barack Hussein Obama had a chance of that proverbial snowball of being elected.”

And he didn’t until the GOPe got the nominee that they wanted.

She is extremely incompetent. I would think Warren could easily mop the floor with her anytime she chose to do so.

Here she was last October trying to get to Warren's left while stumping for Marsha Coakley for Massachusetts governor (failed):

Reportedly, Granny Warren was in the audience.

Damn, who pissed your post toasties?

“or any viable Democratic candidate, will NOT challenge Hillary. People fear the Clintons and their diabolical means of retribution.”

You mean like Obama? They are weaker than they’ve ever been. You may not have noticed but the State Dept has thrown her to the wolves over emailgate,,,, Nobody is scared of them anymore. That is so 20 years ago,,,,

http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/james-webb-war-novelist/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=james-webb-war-novelist

“....James Webb is hardly a pacifist, but next to Hillary Clinton he is a virtual Smedley Butler: the peace candidate, a sharp critic of our Middle Eastern entanglements and their architects.

The tired old categories need a reset. Webb, who praises the “Southern redneck” as “the greatest inhibitor of the plans of the activist Left and the cultural Marxists for a new kind of society,” will be the most powerful voice in his party for drug-law and prison reform, an end to promiscuous military interventions, and closing the chasm between the plutocracy and the rest of us.

Echoing the Populists of the 1890s, especially those who sought a biracial coalition against the exploiters and the imperialists, Webb denies that “America should be governed by a club of insiders who manipulate public opinion in order to serve the interests of hidden elites who hold the reins of power.”

Nothing he writes can be mistaken for a Martin O’Malley tweet or Heritage Foundation issue paper.

It is impossible to read Webb and conclude that he has anything but loathing for the Fortunate Sons—the Jeb Bushes and Mitt Romneys—and the epicene polemicists who do their masters’ bidding. If Webb gets anywhere near the White House, these un-American snipers will deploy, but Jim Webb has faced weaponry more potent than the chicken hawks’ pea-shooters—and he lived to tell the tale.”

The candidates don’t matter for 2016. It is all about the illegal vote. It is alrewdy documented that ilegals are being registered though motor voter. Once amnesty is given more than it is democrats win. I am not optimistic.

If Walker is the nominee, I’d bet good money that the unions will make it their mission in life to deliver Ohio and the other midwestern states to her.

Walker has proven he can win in a blue state against that sort of opposition. No other potential candidate has been so tested.

Julian Castro is the current HUD Secretary, and former MAYOR of San Antonio, TX. Very similar story to Henry Cisneros. JC’s ONE claim to fame is pushing through FREE pre-kindergarten schooling for the kiddies, which elevated him to “hero” status with the local Hispanics. JC is Hispanic as well, and was elected to Mayor on the coat-tails of his twin brother, Joquan who is currently a US Representative from TX. Both are career politicians in Texas, and were educated at Stanford and Harvard Law School.

Julian Castro and his brother are the Hispanic equivalent of Obama! No previous record of doing anything, extremely likable, and rather “blah” politically. Scratch below the carefully applied exterior, and you find something different! Their mother is/was an extremely powerful figure in La Raza locally, and she heavily influenced her sons thinking. All are hard-core leftist. It will be just like Obama... keep a low profile politically, charm the voters, and get elected. THEN turn left sharpy and continue the course laid out by Obama!

Hillary is a bit player in this show! The long-term hope of the far-left is to get one or both of the Castro brothers in a position to influence the leftward direction of the US. Once one of them become President, Obama will look like a Piker! Be prepared for Aztlan to appear!

I predict it will be two women: The Hildebeast and Elizabeth “Lie-a-Watha” Warren.

Stop sending American jobs overseas.

Indeed. Also stop the flagrant abuse of the H-1B and L-1 visas that put US folks out of work (after being forced to train their replacements in many cases).

So who in the GOP could've defeated Obama in 2008 given the way current events turned out?

Absolutely. I know the biggest state for this right now would be Michigan; there’s a bill pending in committee that would help a good bit.

Why send a Latino Vp when you can send a Latino Prez. That should be the GOP reply to this ticket.

Ted Cruz

She’d do everything in her power to control a setting like that for sure IF she even agreed to it. If she couldn’t control the moderator, panelists, audience and debate rules she wouldn’t even show up. Blame it on sexism or something.

Formidable only to the extent of GOP fecklessness.

As a side, the SCOTUS could assist the Dems bigtime by striking down the Obamacare state exchanges. If SCOTUS once again upholds Obamacare, 2016 will another GOP landslide.
