You could do that I guess. But you’d have to confiscate all the wealth of the elite in Mexico and just make it a state - one more to the fifty. The problem is those elites want their cake and to be able to eat it too.

Oh great more mouths to feed, house, and give free medical care and educations to. And they don’t even pay taxes to boot. So I guess instead of working 15 hours a week extra to pay the taxes it’ll pribably be ramped up to 20 - 25 hours. Great. Just great.

As it is now we’re getting the burden but no benefits. Make it all the U.S. then the natives could stay where they are and our government would have all the control over the minerals, tourism etc that the Mexicans are wasting. How many Mexicans will be forced upon us? The answer to that is: However many it takes to force us to cede most of the country’s sovereignty to Mexico. That’s what we should really be discussing, because those who believe that’s not the ultimate goal are deluding themselves.
