If Trump goes third party, then the Republicans will certainly lose the White House in 2016.

Posted on 07/27/2015 6:17:50 AM PDT by Enlightened1

In other words..., Trump is the Republicans ONLY HOPE for the White House.

If the Establishment Republicans along with their cohorts in the media destroy him, then Trump will be become more powerful. It will split the Republican vote that put in all the Republicans in 2014.

The end result will be either be Hillary or Trump victory in 2016.

I see the Establishment candidates Jeb and Walker as nothing more than McCain and Romney fall guys to Hillary.

Agree or Disagree?

Maybe the republicans learned their lesson with Perot.

Ignore and make an outcast a conservative at your own peril.

Bit early for gloom and doom, isn’t it?

Besides, Cruz looks terrific at this point. At least to me.

I’m more inclined to vote for Cruz than Trump anyway. I don’t really trust Trump. Besides, I think he could turn out to be another Schwarzenegger, but on a national scale.

Notice all the media buzz asking if Bernie Sanders will launch a third-party bid?
Me neither.

To quote a well known, but loathsome female, “What difference does it make?”

There is no GOP, there is only the uniparty.

And I hope we keep them from escaping the country after CW-II because there will be extended torture and death planned for all of them.

Pretty much agree. Third parties never win Presidential elections if that’s their first (and usually last) election. From Teddy Roosevelt’s Bullmoose Party, to John Anderson, to Ross Perot... it’s always the same outcome. The vote from the party perceived closest to the candidate gets split.

Perot really screwed up the country by giving the election to the Clintoons. BJC was Obama’s political John the Baptist (one of my boys said that on campuses in 2008, they thought Obama was the Black Jesus.)

Yeah, that’s pretty much a given.

What are the odds, though, that the GOPe will give him a fair shake such that if he loses the nomination,
he’ll not seek vengeance?

The GOPe is the third party, they are just in denial about it.

Kennedy had enough vision to see Obama was the ‘horse’ in 2008. Can only wish more conservatives saw the same in Trump. (PS - I’m a VERY successful ‘Momentum Trader’)

Agree or Disagree?

I agree that if Trump runs then we lose. The Dems will win.

I also believe that Trump, being no fool, also agrees. So the only real question is: How big is the Trump Ego and is willing to sacrifice the nation to satisfy it? I'm very afraid of the answer to that question.

Not if Cruz gets the nomination. Cruz will take away Trump’s biggest issue, the border, and will make an issue of Trump’s checkered past.

Trump is the DEMOCRATS’ only hope in 2016. Hillary will become president if Trump does a Perot. A lot here on FR like his chutzpah, but he’s a menace to society.

Perot was no conservative, he just had the demeanor of one. (high gas tax, prop abort, etc.)

Republicans also treated him with kid gloves until it was too late.

Trump is not exactly conservative either, but he's no Perot (except in ego and cash).

What can our feckless and weak GOP do to Trump to destroy him in plain sight that he can't do back or defend himself against?

Short of ordering a hit, I don't think they can destroy him. Their problem with undermining Trump's credibility is that they have to continue to vote FOR Obama's big government agenda in Congress while simultaneously explaining that 1) Trump is wrong for America, and 2) they are not really voting FOR Obama's agenda.

What if the third party ticket is Trump-Cruz or Cruz-Trump?

I don’t think it is likely at the moment, but the club Republicans seem determined to force Cruz out. Then what?

We will not get it no matter what. The Democrats have voter fraud which guarantees that they win.
