Cardinal Timothy Dolan has penned an op-ed reacting to Donald Trump’s speech at his campaign launch for a 2016 presidential run–six weeks ago–calling the Republican candidate a harbinger of anti-Catholic, racist “nativism.”
Cardinal Dolan writes at the New York Daily News:
During those happy days decades ago when I taught American religious history to university students, I spent a chunk of time in class on the ugly phenomenon called nativism, defined by the scholar and author Ray Allen Billington as, “organized, white, Protestant antagonism toward the Catholic immigrant.”

So it would seem. Ironically, Dolan and his ilk will see most Catholic schools, hospitals and charitable institutions shut down because of his foolishness.
The Cardinal’s response is strange.Maybe he doesn’t read the news or Mr.Trump did not donate to one of the Cardinal’s campaign.Trump is talking about illegal immigrates.But maybe the Cardinal knows that and is disrespecting all the Souls that came here legally including all my Grandparents from my Mother’s and Father’s side.Maybe it is not called Nativism for the Cardinal.Maybe he misspoke and it is called Idontlikehimism.

Dolan is for open borders, income redistribution, and gun grabbing. ‘eff him.
Trump is Protestant...Presbyterian. Many of the other candidates are Catholic.
But the idea that Trump is against illegal immigrants because they are Catholic is bogus. Trump is against illegals because of the high unemployment.

We tried the race card, that kind of didn’t work, so now we’re trying the religion card, and when that doesn’t work, we’ll go back to the public shaming - and if that doesn’t work, we’ll go back to the race card...
ANYTHING but talking about the actual problem. Waive away the issue, toss up strawman arguments, hold up a poor woman who is just trying to survive in the ‘land of her dreams’, etc, etc, etc.
It never ends. It is always the same thing, and it doesn’t matter if the person is a Republican or a Democrat, it is the same scenario. Obfuscate, distract, change the question, make up random facts or make baseless charges.
ANYTHING but actually deal with the problem.
Oh, and notice how ominously silent all these critics are about the Iran deal, trade deals, free trade, Iraq and every other issue Trump’s brought up.
And every single one of these critics are shocked — SHOCKED - that none of these almost foolproof attempts have worked. NBC cancelled a program that didn’t exist as well as televising a contest which they were contracted to do. Others cancelled contracted use of Trump properties, basically surrendering the deposits made for empty grandstanding efforts.
Because actually dealing with the elephant in the room is just absolutely abhorrent to both sides of the uniparty.

This is from the modernist Archbishop of New York. He and his ilk have embraced the social services model of the church at the expense of the sacraments. Parish after parish closed on his orders, confessions reduced to 30 mins on Saturday, mass as Broadway touring company or bad comunity theatre performance so as to make prayer impossible. I could go on.
Let’s see now, a liberal high up mucky muck Catholic doesn’t like Trump. Why am I not surprised?
