Bernie Won’t Be President, but He’s Still Bad News for the GOP [Sanders leads all Republicans]

Many headlines over the weekend were dedicated to a CNN/ORC poll showing Donald Trump leading the Republican pack in the race for the GOP presidential nomination and Hillary Clinton maintaining real but shrinking leads against all of the top Republican contenders.

One detail, however, got less attention than it perhaps deserved. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, currently Clinton’s most viable rival for the Democratic nomination, wins in head-to-head competitions against all three Republican frontrunners.

Among all respondents to the poll, Sanders, a self-described socialist who has been running to Clinton’s left, beats former Florida governor Jeb Bush 48 percent to 47. That win is well within the poll’s three percent margin of error, but Sanders crushes billionaire Donald Trump 58 percent to 38 percent and notches a statistically significant win over Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, 48 to 42.

What makes Sanders’ showing particularly impressive is that the same poll shows that more than half of Americans either don’t know who he is or don’t know enough about him to have formed an opinion.

When asked their opinion of Sanders, 23 percent of respondents reported a favorable opinion of him and 22 percent reported an unfavorable opinion. However, 38 percent said they had “never heard” of him and another 13 percent didn’t know enough about him to form an opinion.

Bernie Sanders beating any of the GOP contenders is a good reason to leave the country.

If Sanders gets the nomination he has a good shot at winning. He starts with NY and CA in his pocket. That’s somewhere near 1/3 of all the EV’s he would need to win.

Republican poll numbers are divided among 17 candidates.
IIRC, Bernie is one of 3 lunatic liberal choices.

I wonder how his favoring a 90% tax on those earning above a certain number will play out in the USA.

See here:

TITLE: Bernie Sanders: A 90 Percent Tax Rate Isn’t Too High

If he honestly and openly proposes and defends this and WINS... this is a RED FLAG... it tells me that America has reached the tipping point and is not longer the great country it once was.

These are head to head matchups.

These poll results are sad and another sign that this country is swirling down the toilet.

The bad news is that our electorate may be near the 50.1% tipping point for Socialism.

These a$$holes presume to think a pre-nomination poll distribution equates to a post-nomination distribution among those who would likely vote Republican.

This has been historically true with the exception of the last two Presidential elections. But Conservatives in this country have had enough. More than enough. They will not vote for a Jeb Bush.
For Jeb to get nominated, the pipe dream of being rescued by Hispanics is their only grace, and that just won’t happen. But if that wild dream comes true, the writer’s prediction might be true.

BUT! BUT! If we as conservatives can keep Jeb from getting the nomination, then that writer’s assessment will be like the paper I wiped my butt this morning with.

If this poll is even a somewhat accurate reflection of the political idiocy of the American public, we have reached the point of no return.

Any poll that does not show Trump in the lead, be it from CNN, ABC News/WaPo, NBC News/WSJ is biased, an establishment poll, and is propaganda! But if/when those same polling outfits or other liberals pollers show Trump ahead (and some have), then they accurate!!! /s.

That is basically what I have learned reading many posts here at FR from Trump supporters. LOL.

This is like predicting the Super Bowl winner after a week of NFL combines.

Relax folks, it is still 2015.

I don’t think any Republican has said a word about Bernie.

So far I haven’t heard any specifics about what Bernie would do as President.

How would he handle illegal immigration?
How would he handle Iran, North Korea, Russia?
What would happen to ObamaCare under Bernie? Would it get bigger?
Where is Bernie on Religious Freedom?
Where is Bernie on Homosexual indoctrination in elementary schools?
Where is Bernie on gang warfare in major cities?
Where is Bernie on the War on Drugs

So far Bernie has been able to talk in platitudes, just like Obama did. The GOP didn’t engage him because to do so would have made them “rassists.”

Bernie is an old white dude who looks and talks like some professor who’s past retirement and is only around because of tenure. Another free rider on the gravy train.

With all this support for Sanders, I worry about this country. He’s a socialist, for Pete’s sake … why are so many people liking him?!

I agree, but there are also polls out there showing Hitlery beating any GOP contender (which is BS), so I'm not believing any of this.

This is very good news in regards to both Hillary and the DNC types like Bush or Christie. What is really revealing is that Obama has destroyed Hillary, and the RNC is working overtime to destroy both Trump and the TEA wing of the GOP. The two big tents are not really that inclusive, but actually should form a single DNC-RNC Party to do what the heck they want on immigration, welfare, quantitative easing and higher taxes; oh and not to forget the divisive social policy rooted in an anti-worship collation.
