Diver Dave was called home Sunday morning.

After fighting ALS for several months, on Sunday morning Diver Dave was called home to Jesus' loving arms.
According to his family, he is having a great reunion with his parents, his oldest sister, his parents-in-law and many others including many FReepers.

As we recall what a Patriot Diver Dave was, it seems appropriate that he joined FreeRepublic July 4, 1998.
Dave loved this country and our troops. Many times, he drove 2 hours each way to join the Fresno Freepers in support of our troops.

Dave had a very strong faith that was an inspiration to many of us. He faced his ALS and his other health issues knowing that he was in God's Hands
and he was ready for whatever His decision would be. His faith and positive attitude was always inspiring.

His last post was at Amy's Place on January 19, 2015.

Yesterday we attended the Celebration of Life for Diver Dave. It was great. We learned many things other than his love of FR from the remembrances. Jim and Sheila also attended.

We arrived too late to witness The Patriot Guard; but his daughter posted a video on FaceBook.

It took me several tries but I finally saved and uploaded a copy. Sure hope it plays for you.

They plan to be at the cemetery again on Monday. If a video is shared, I will get it posted here.

Being a true Patriot, Diver Dave would have been honored to have them there.

While I am happy I could be a part of making it happen, credit goes to Dave as he earned those honors when he served this great country of ours.

When we were getting ready to leave, one of TPGs came over to Jim and thanked him for his service. When he shook his hand, he left a silver dollar sized badge in Jim’s hand.

TPG impressed me with their dedication. Sure wish I had gotten there earlier but couldn’t make it happen.

The family thanked me (and you) for putting them in contact with TPG. So many people do not realize this is available for veterans.
