Donald Trump is finally showing us more of his economic plan beyond the "Make America Great Again" slogan on his red hat.
America has now learned:
-- He wants to tax the rich more and the middle class less.
-- He wants to lower corporate taxes.
-- He wants to cut government spending and stop raising the debt ceiling.
"The hedge fund people make a lot of money and they pay very little tax," Trump said in an interview Wednesday with Bloomberg. "I want to lower taxes for the middle class."
In short, Trump is willing to raise taxes on himself and those like him.
Many hedge fund managers and real estate investors are able to list their earnings as "carried interest" because of an IRS tax rule. They are able to cast their earnings as investment gains instead of income, which allows them to be taxed at a lower rate.
"You've seen my statements. I do very well. I don't mind paying a little more in taxes. The middle class is getting clobbered in this country," he said.

That’s not what I said...I’ll use smaller words for you.
He can have his opinion, but he should act on it. He is free to pay more in taxes. He is also free to read history and know that what I said about government spending is totally true.....thus he’s put himself in an impossible predicament, and your attempt to use it to make a point was an epic fail.
Actually, the first time they heard it was when Cruz came defeated the establishment RINO to become a US Senator. What bothers me is this the first time we’ve ever heard anything conservative from Trump.
You forgot references to Reagan, Churchill & biblical predictions/signs.
“Ha! The first Platonic reference Ive ever seen on FR. Its much simpler in the cave.”
With all the Trump love going on here... it makes a little bit of sense why Plato references would be so scant.
Oh, because that makes it all ok, right?
You notice who Trump powwowed with in order to get that, don’t you?
It isn’t exactly Jimmy Carter.
Here, you want some wet-wipes to clean up when you are done? :-)
Here's the Donald raising taxes on the rich in his own words. He's delusional about some magical fantasy bunch called 'hedge fund managers' and folks that make hundreds of millions a year and pay nothing in taxes. What's really scary are all the voters that believe this nonsense.
svengali: a person who manipulates or exerts excessive control over another
Who are you asserting Trump is controlling?
I’ve been waiting to see what Trump’s policy positions really are.
When he stops ‘evolving’. /s
Do you REALLY want to get into a comparison of the liberal things Trump has said/done over the years with Cruz's record? Because for everything you can bring up about Cruz to "show" he's not conservative, I can probably bring up 5 about Trump...
FR has lost its collective mind.
Sorry to bust your bubble but the top 1% of wage earners pay 45.7 of all the taxes. The bottom 50% pay 3% of the taxes. Get your facts straight. The upper middle class by definition can’t be considered the top 1%
He’s manipulating a whole swath of of conservatives into believing he is their torch bearer.
Good one. If you have a systematic, conservative philosophy based on first principals, you’ll eventually come across Plato’s allegory of the cave. If you’re just a conservative because it kind of makes sense (shadows on a wall), you’ll happily default to pragmatism when something looks pretty good (not really seeing the thing for what it is). True conservatism abhors pragmatism, compromise, or modifications because true conservatism is merely the recognition of man’s state in nature and standing before God.
So ya don’t like lowering tax rates and eliminating deductions. ;-)
Explain to me how 15% is higher?
Yes. Quite the coincidence.
I did forget to mention Reagan. But here’s one better: one Freeper the other day was praising Trump for being like “Jenjis” Khan. I’m wondering when they’ll start posting pictures of Trump with his shirt off coming out of the ocean, Photoshopped package and all.
First of all there is no Trump tax plan as of yet, just trial balloons. Trumps own words, just this last week:
“I would let people who are making hundreds of millions of dollars a year pay some tax,” Trump said during an interview with Bloomberg News on Wednesday. “Because right now, they’re paying very little tax. I think it’s outrageous.”
What does this signal to you?
