Palin Defends Trump: We Need a ‘Tough’ POTUS, Not a Master of Trivial Pursuit

Sarah Palin appeared on CNN this morning and defended Donald Trump after his less-than-stellar interview with Hugh Hewitt.

Trump’s foreign policy-focused interview was pretty widely panned for The Donald’s loose grasp on the issues. On State of the Union this morning, Tapper asked Palin if she thought Trump got “gotcha” questions.

Palin said, “I’d rather have a president who is tough and puts America first than can win a game of Trivial Pursuit.”

Sarah Palin is more brilliant than what the inept McCain campaign allowed her to project in 2008. The McCain advisers never liked Palin and I would not be surprised if they purposely put her in interviews with Perky Katie and ABC, unprepared and improperly briefed on what to expect. She never recovered from those 2 interviews.

I posit, that you are a fly by poster. Thoughtless, unsubstantiated, one liners proves it.

I don’t see a response to the issue I raised.

Nobody has Cuds on their radar. Period!

Yet you sit there at your keyboard and take Trump to task for not knowing about them or their leader.

If we don’t know about them here after studying these matters for decades, why would you possibly think Trump would?

Thanks space cadet CoaC. You’ve gotcher wings... /s

Try to gasp the issue at hand. It’s not really that hard.

The Cuds have not been a topic of discussion on this forum.

Do your own FR search. ZIP! Nada! Doesn’t even show up.

If they’re that important, why weren’t they discussed here?

Hardly anyone has heard of the Cuds. Yet that obscure terrorist group is the one focused on to trip up Trump.

Eat crow. My point was 100% dead on the mark and you know it.

The idea that no one has Quds on their radar is laughable. Nice trick, by the way, spelling it Cuds so you can say there are no rests — try spelling it correctly (Quds), and you’ll see that people have, in fact, been talking about them, right here on FR.

I’m for Cruz or Walket.

I’m just honest and appreciate what Trump has brought to the table.

Ironic also that you embrace mockery of Trump vis a vis Hewitt’s sophomoric and puerile approach and then cry about being mocked.

And for just one quick example of why knowing who guys like Suleimani are:

Among the big winners in the agreement to curtail Iran’s nuclear program, count a notorious and shadowy Iranian general who helped Shiite militias in Iraq kill American soldiers and who has come to the rescue of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

You’ll find his name, Qasem Soleimani, buried in an annex (PDF) of the unremittingly dense Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, along with some of his colleagues from the senior ranks of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, as well as its various divisions and corporate fronts. They’ll all be granted some sanctions relief as part of the U.S.-brokered deal to curtail Iran’s development of a nuclear weapon.

(source)

Knowing who these guys are matters. Period.

See my last post. Hewitt's questions weren't sophomoric or puerile. Knowing who these guys are--especially Suleimani, especially now, while the Iran deal is going on--matters.

The line of questioning was sophomoric and meaningless.

It was not meant to gain information or knowledge on Trumps ideas or philosophy on how to address state sponsored terrorism.

It was demagogic.

Very analogous to name calling to shut down discussion via as hominum.

Truthfully nobody except the inside the beltway talking pundits really care if Trump knows the name of every two bit thug in the Mideast.

I have said previously that Donald should have told HH that he doesn’t get an intel briefing every Monday morning like the one Obama never attends.

Al Quds

Should Trump have known of this group and it's leader's name?

I have said no, because this group gets very little air time.  It is not the focus of the media and most people who follow what takes place in the Middle East.

Here are the Google search results for the various terrorist groups in the Middle East, at least the ones most of us have heard of.  I posted the al Quds numbers for comparision.

A good talk show host doesn't sink to the 2.45 percenter level to make a reasoned point about Middle East dynamics knowledge.

Number of objects found:

28.72% 31,200,000   al Qaeda
25.96% 28,200,000   Hamas
21.63% 23,500,000   PLO
11.23% 12,200,000   Hezbollah
8.44% 09,170,000   the Muslim Brotherhood
2.45% 02,660,000   al Quds
1.57% 01,710,000   al Fatah
108,640,000   total objects
