HONOLULU, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- An undisclosed number of F-22 Raptors of the Hawaii Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force have been deployed to the Middle East for as long as six months.
The Hawaii Air National Guard, or HIANG, said the deployment of most of the fighters and more than 200 personnel from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu took place Sept. 26 but was kept secret for security considerations.
The aircraft and personnel are now in an unidentified location in the region, which is in the area of responsibility of the U.S. Central Command.
"Because of security considerations and host nation sensitivities, the HIANG will not release the base nor country where the Raptors are operating from, nor will the HIANG release the number of F-22 fighters that are deployed," it said.

Syria’s WMDs were evacuated by Russia months ago. Assad only controls 20% of Syria today. Not much room to store them away from an assault.

I wouldn’t like to see that at all, however it may be a possibility. Military people are trained to follow orders, from good commanders or bad.
I don’t want it to happen, certainly. But if it did, I’d want to see what kind of man just blindly follows orders like that. Do that, and you’d do other things.
In fact, the US aircraft that was used was a C-130 Specter gunship and the attack on the hospital was the result of collateral damage in which the dead died from a resulting fire and not the gun fire from the 105 gun used by the C130.
It is funny how the Russians just bombed Syria and killed more than 35 civilians and not a word about if from the hate America crowd or the ever victim acting American socialist!

They didn’t send all the F-22’s from HI, plus there are F-22’s in Alaska.

Second, no, they can't see it. There are brief, very brief moments when the LO capability is compromised, but that brief moment is not enough to glean any info regarding alt, heading, airspeed, etc.
Third, IRST is a nice capability but that capability is significantly reduced when engaged against the F-22. The dispersed IR plume of the F-22 makes detection at range extremely problematic. . .and those Russian jets will die well before they can be a threat.
Fourth, there is no hubris in recognizing its inherent capability. It is something to leverage and train with. . .and we do. There are times when the 5th Gen capability is mitigated intentionally as this will allow training for both sides.
Fifth, no I have not played video games with this jet, or any other. I am a former fighter pilot and have actually flown alongside and against the F-22. So, rather than take some game designers guess as to the F-22’s capability (along with their knowledge-gap regarding its classified capabilities) as representative of the jets 5th (and emerging 6th) Gen capability, I go with real-world knowledge.
Lastly, defense forums and such, same as gamers but with a little more technical knowledge, have some credibility but they, too, operate with limited knowledge and posters/commentators are, like me, bound from posting true specifics. And we can't overlook disinformation campaigns on those forums, disinformation by the Russians, China, North Korea, even the French. These disinformation posters are trying to glean classified info, to provoke “discussion” in order to subtly trick posters/writers into revealing more than they should.

Like Vietnam, because of narrow airspace and political reasons, there were narrow corridors for ingress and egress, and the time of the nightly attacks was well established. So, they were ready and they waited for the 117 to arrive in its corridor and open its bomb door and drop. . .kind of like turning on a flashlight in a dark room. . .can't miss seeing it. So, unlike today when we use satellite systems to ensure guidance and hits, the F-177 had to laz the tgt until the LGB impacted. This means the jet was 'visible' during the entire attack run. So, the SAMs were ready, looking in the right direction and launched when the jet became ‘visible,’ basically hit a predictable tgt with LO capability significantly reduced.

That’s probably because it has its radar reflector deployed and or blip enhance on its transponder turned on.
When you see a F-22 demo at an airshow, they may show some impressive moves but doesn’t come close to revealing the true capabilities of the jet so it doesn’t surprise me one bit that an F-18 “killed” one in a mock dogfight..... Same can be said of the mock dogfights between the F-22 and Indian Air Force Su-27/35/ect.

The Serbs were able to see it when the bomb bay doors opened. The SA-3 detonated close enough to severely damage the aircraft and the pilot lost control. It went inverted and pancaked into the ground.
No you are not a fighter pilot(just an internet keyboard warrior, steal that glory bro) or you would know passive radar can still track a stealth aircraft and send queuing orders to SAMs. The only thing would be if it was jammed or taken out by a missile strike before a F-22 comes in. I like the F-22 I am one of its biggest cheerleaders, it however is not undetectable only under the right circumstance would it appear so. Yes it has many advantages over a fourth gen. fighter but the Russians are not idiots.

I understand your skepticism, as anyone can claim to be anything on the net, but as a word of caution, do not throw around accusations of “liar’ so freely.
Of course, you may choose to believe I am embellishing for whatever reason, but review my posting history for a more in-depth exposure to my background is in order. But then again, it all comes down to if you believe or not believe who I am.
“Passive radar” relies on certain principles that cannot be discussed in an open forum, and the F-22 and its LO capability and LPI capability deprive “passive radar” of its core capability/coordination requirements.
