It was not too many years ago on FR, that if you defended eminent domain, you were SATAN. I will be interested in seeing the reaction to this from Trump’s supporters.
He’s wrong there. If he doesn’t modify his stance it’s going to cost him votes.

In the big picture remember that Trump will make room for conservatives who will finally have found a voice under his umbrella for what is, maybe, 70-80% conservative. The real answer would be a constitutional amendment which, as putative president, Trump would have zero input into.

Trump's defenders let him get away with many anti-conservative beliefs. So what if your house and property is taken away because The Donald wants to build a casino on it for his own profit.
Trump’s supporters have now decided that eminent domain is just great. The Donald said so, so it’s true. Ask no questions!!
I'm a Trump supporter and I absolutely HATE this about him, just as I hate all his talk about fed.gov healthcare.
These things however aren't deal killers. The bought and paid for alternatives are far worse, and I've learned a long time ago that every politician has things I hate about him. Including Ronald Reagan.
It's kind of a moot issue anyway, as there isn't much any candidate can do about Kelo.
Let’s be reasonable here. I don’t think anybody is defending ED. We have a RINO crew hell-bent on shoving illegal aliens as “pathways” to citizenship, who broke the law FIRST by just being here and they want to reward them. I’m talking about Rubio, Cruz, Carson, and the whole entire corrupt crew talking about “pathways”.
We have another guy, talking about shipping them all back and enforcing existing laws (as they should be). He has a serious case of foot-in-mouth, but what he says burns libs & rino’s like acid in the eyes.
I would rather save what’s left of our culture than allow it to be swallowed up by 3rd world heathens (muslims/illegals). Nobody else is taking this issue seriously. I’ve lived in Mexico, I know how it’s run and I imagine you wouldn’t like it since the standard FR AMISH jokes run amok here whenever idiot turd worlders do what they normally do and it makes the news.
Once America is gone, it’s gone. There’s never going to be “another election” to get it back (I think we’re too far gone IMHO anyways), but hey Trump at least speaks about making a stand.

Eminent Domain is in the Constitution. Yeah, I will defend it.

Not eminent domain in of itself, but its overbearing use - such as what occurred in the wretched Kelo v. Connecticut case where it was stated it could be used to take private property away not for public use, but to give to wealthier owner who wants it if the owner does not want to sell because it might bring in more tax revenue for the government. However, since Trump supports that decision and this total misuse eminent domain power, as you can see, they are all for it - they probably opposed it like the rest of us five seconds before it was brought to light that Trump supported it - now Kelo v. Connecticut is good, because Trump supports it. Just like Planned Parenthood funding became good after Trump came out in favor of it and won praise from the organization, 'universal healthcare' and host of other statist / liberal causes - now if you continue to hold the same positions these same Trump supporters also held, you are now an 'apologist for the GOPe' and "deranged" critic of Trump.
Check out the thread. A lot of them either rationalize it or don't care. :(
