Louie Gohmert: Boehner Postponed Speaker Vote ‘Like Any Good Dictator Would’
The Blaze ^ | 8 Oct 2015 | Madeleine Morgenstern

Rep. Louie Gohmert blasted John Boehner for his decision to postpone the Republicans’ vote for the next House speaker, saying he acted “like any good dictator would” because he wants to choose his own successor.

It actually pointed to the reason we need a new speaker, and that is because it’s like he feels he has to pick a successor, like any good dictator would,” the Texas Republican said in comments to TheBlaze Thursday night after House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy abruptly took himself out of the running as GOP members gathered for the secret-ballot vote. “But this is not supposed to be a dictatorship. This was an awesome time, a great opportunity for the conference to come together after Kevin’s announcement and have a family discussion.”

“Obviously, the speaker feels like he needs to find some other successor he can appoint, but that’s not the way it’s supposed to work, and we’ll go from here,” Gohmert said.

Let the House meet and override Boehner. Get Newt into DC and assume the House Speaker job.

Enough with the Newt thing, you NEVER put New Wine in an Old Wineskin...Its in The Bible, whats old is old and so forth, you cannot be double minded and expect blessings from The Lord

Newt has history too or else he would have a better rep over his time in the house...

It is time to part with ALL that is old and no longer serves Us as Citizens and not compromise by falling back into gotcha moments debating Fools in the Democrati side, it is a waste of time and they suck you in to delay and dismay you, frustrate you into stupid remarks or vengeful attitudes..

When they are sitting there in an orange jumpsuit sayin wha happen Justice will we hope be done. If we compromise now in ANY way trying to bring past wounds forward for vengeance we oursleves become that which we seek to change

May God have Mercy on Our Souls...

Let God Arise, and Let His Enemies Be Scattered!!

I just love Louie Gohmert. He’s a brave man with the courage of his convictions, and is not afraid to speak his mind.

Rep. Gohmert should throw his hat into the ring.
I fully understand why he would not want the job, but he is one of the few that I’d actually want to have as speaker.

Yup, that struck me too. We’re living in a soon to be tyranny and the GOPe is helping take us there.

The GOP is self destructing. Boehner has become a dangerous laughing stock. Who the hell is he anyway? The GOP is an army of arrogant nothing burgers.

Yep. Louie is right. It is exactly what someone would do if they had a dictator mindset.

Let that be one more black mark on his legacy which by now is just one long list of black marks and butt kissing.

Yes, it clearly was the action of a dictator who made up the rules as he wanted. The conference met to select a candidate. When Bonner's hand picked candidate was no longer standing he abruptly closed the meeting without voting on the other two men who were waiting for a vote. He did so as if they were not even there. They were entitled to a vote, but neither counted because the did not meet Bonner's RINO status so he shut the conference down.

I wish Louie Gohmert would either put his own name forward to be speaker and take responsibility to solve the problems he complains about or admit he just likes to raise trouble without having to be accountable.

And I do like what Gohmert says. There was an old saying back when I was in the Army: “Lead, follow, or get out of the way.” It is time for Gohmert to step into leadership.

Gohmert could never get the 124 votes he needs.
