Interview with Harry MacDougald the Atlanta lawyer who's initial questioning of the validity of the Killian documents exposed the flaw CBS report about George W. Bush's National Guard Service.

Someone ought to do a "Top Ten Greatest Moments on FR" thread. Certainly this Rathergate moment remains number one. Two others I recall fondly are the live thread about the FReep counterprotest of Cindy Sheehan's over-hyped and under-attended protest at George Bush's Texas ranch, which garnered thousands of hits and moved so fast you could hardly read it; and secondly the live thread the night FReepers took the gates of Walter Reed away from Code Pink and permanently repelled their nasty azzes down the street, away from protesting the wounded at the gates.
Of course, there were the early threads about FReeping Al Gore while the hanging chad recounts and Supreme Court decision was being made in the 2000 election. I think one or more of the FReeps of the White House Correspondents Dinners also might qualify, as well as the main thread about the Gathering of Eagles in DC to protect the national monuments from vandals at a commie-organized anti-war rally, and certainly the biggest thread of the first huge Tea Party rally at the Capitol Building in 2009 that garnered a million attendees and was either totally ignored or calumniously misrepresented in the MSM.

I’m aware of the timeline. I’m just saying they didn’t get away with the Rather TANG docs, but they got away with the FOBC, so why not bring around the fake TANG docs again and maybe get lucky?
No, sorry. I’m sure you could dig it out with time.
Actually, they played with the brightness, and found the address of the kinkos that it was sent from, and tracked it to a particular guy that had a history of making anti-Bush stuff up. A few days later it was admitted. In amongst that was evidence that it wasn’t simply a gullible CBS, but that they lied about what their “handwriting analyst” said to them, and deceived him about what he was looking at.

Also:
IMHO, someone needs to make sure this gets done every single time FR does something like this in the future.

Some basic points:
1) At the alleged time of the memo, it was not yet time for the physical (due during birth-month)..
2) there were, within 24 hours, over 40 LINES of evidence that the documents were not only themselves forgeries, but also did not accord with known facts and procedures. This grew to around 65 lines of evidence within 48 hours.
3) even if the document had been real, and further, had reflected the intent of the CO, it having not been given to the subject of the order means its meaningless. Orders not delivered are not actually orders.

(Hey , if Dan Rather can try to resurrect his career, I can try to revive this thread.)
Ya think Dan “what’s the frequency Kenneth” Rather reads FR?
Methinks he does.
