Fox News Media Analyst Howard Kurtz slammed CNBCâs GOP debate as âan absolute trainwreck for CNBCâ and âa disaster for all of us in the news businessâ on Wednesdayâs âKelly File.â
Kurtz said, âMegyn, this was an absolute trainwreck for CNBC. Many of the moderatorsâ questions seemed to me to be snide, hostile, condescending, borderline insulting. And, let me just make clear, Iâm totally in favor of tough and provocative questions. ⦠But a lot of these questions were not drilling down on facts, or record, or policy. When John Harwood says Trump, comic book campaign, or does he have the moral authority to be president? When Carl Quintanilla asked Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who had a good night by the way, are you a young man in a hurry? shouldnât you have waited a few years to run for president? It just validated what a lot of people think about the mainstream media, and this channelâs thatâs affiliated of course with NBC News that they cannot be fair to Republicans. It was a disaster for all of us in the news business.â
Kurtz added, âit didnât seem like they were focused, for the most part, on questions that, you know this is supposed to be a debate about the economy and jobs on questions that most Americans would relate to. And itâs just that they were gotcha questions, youâre right, they were so personal and the tone seemed so condescending.

Jeb, walking dead campaign.
The only reason I don’t feel disgust at this level of stupidity is because having worked in the media, I fully realize that yes, they really are that unaware of the words coming out of their mouths/keyboards. They are every bit as stupid as they appear on TV.
I have said it for years. History begins for a liberal every morning when they wake up.
Read the comments on Huffpo (then shower immediately after) they’re not embarrassed in the least.
?
How did you escape being in the media without total zombification and loss of all brain power?
The bias of the moderators was so high,it showed all viewers that this was about hurting ALL Republican candidates, and nothing more.
I stood by the principles I went in with.
Seriously. When it became obvious that there was no way to work within the system, I parachuted.
The media has always leaned left..I think maybe 90 percent of the media(That’s including some even on Fox News) vote Democrat..but I think after the 2004 election when they couldn’t get John Kerry elected they decided screw pretending to be “Objective” they decided to throw everything including the kitchen sink to get Democrats elected. It worked in 2008, it worked in 2012(Even Romney as bad as he was should have been elected President, a house cat could have beaten Obama) so they are hoping it will work again in 2016. When the left has the media in their back pocket its hard to beat that. You have people who don’t care about Benghazi, you have people who don’t care about how the IRS targeted a particular group of people, as long as they get their freebies from Mommy and Daddy Govt they just don’t care and that is the problem
I agree. Kelly, Baier, and Wallace weren’t any better than CNBC.
The difference last night was that they all got the Trump treatment where in the earlier debates he was the only one on the receiving end.
Where were all the outcries from the other candidates for the earlier debates?
Trump was on the receiving end of the most of it in the first two, but Fox did ask gotcha questions of other candidates and CNN did try to sic various candidates on other candidate throughout their debate.
When the candidates were in accord with their reactions last night, that made the difference.
Evil isn’t often embarrassed.
So true about Cruz especially his line that the Democrats debate being a fight between the Bolsheviks and Mensheviks. Brilliant! That said, our side is still agreeing to do these debates with the MSM moderating. That’s all I’m saying.
I used to work in the print medium too.
And, yes, I am a zombie.
Where is the firing of Rinse Prius for setting this up knowing the results??
That something that almost never happens, like that time Death Valley flooded.

Very good post; I remember when Kerry lost the bitterness among the media was palpable. They were in full propaganda mode in 2008 and haven’t quit.
” And itââ¬â¢s just that they were gotcha questions, youââ¬â¢re right, they were so personal and the tone seemed so condescending.”
In other words, just like the Fox debate.
