You know, our betters have a very bleak view of Americans.

We need to bring in foreigners because Americans won’t do dishes.

And we need to bring in foreigners because Americans won’t program computers. So we have to bring in half a million programmers a year, every year. Really?

Americans have to understand that we are being replaced. We aren’t being supplemented, we are being replaced. A few thousand a year is supplementing and enriching. Millions per year decade after decade, you are being replaced.

Sorry idiot, perhaps every restaurant in NYC, LA and SF, but certainly NOT every restaurant in America... well other than a few small mexican shops....

I know us Flyover folks don’t matter in your world view, but your arrogance is insane.

I knew I disliked him for a reason. There is just something about him that really made me dislike him.

I managed a restaurant 20 years ago and you are correct.

We had college students for the wait staff, bar tenders, dish room staff, hosts, and kitchen helpers.

We rarely had any issues with them. They came to work when they were supposed to, worked hard, and made enough money to pay their expenses for school.

When they graduated and moved on they even found their own replacements.

“If owners can’t run restaurants without breaking the law, then people will need to eat at home. It’s pretty simple, really.”

Also, some the celeb chef’s could go back to work instead of using their names for 6 figure salaries for being figureheads.

My line of work requires me to call different chain restaurants.

I can’t begin to tell you how many Taco Bell’s and Wendy’s have managers that do not speak English. I don’t know if they are illegal but I do know that when I call they have to find someone that speaks English to translate what I am saying to them.

I have no issues with Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s or the sit down restaurants like Chili’s or Longhorn.

“You are right. The worst that would happen is high school kids could get jobs again. My first job was in a restaurant. There was not one illegal working there.”

Me too...my first job was at Del Taco in Los Angeles (of all places) in 1984. There were two mexican kids who worked there too, though they were certainly NOT illegal.

20, 30 years ago high schoolers and college students did those jobs.

20, 30 years ago I was in the hotel business and I can assure you that INS raids on the workplace (hotel & restaurant) were common.

Getting caught was a temporary setback and most were on the job the next day. It was a daily experience considered a nuisance. I can’t remember a single restaurant that closed because of illegals weren’t available. They and students were plentiful.

“Celebrity chefs! Is there anything they don’t know?!”

If only the nation, and the world, were run by celebrity chefs....

You should see the county ER where I live. Mostly illegals, more than likely, and they all have cell phones..except the little ones.

But no money. So they say.

Hey Tony, you stupid little M’effer. The jobs will open up for high school kids looking to work for college. Or maybe retired people who would like to eek out a living since you bastards in the Nor Loch have stolen all the money out of the SS lockbox that was never locked.
