Rabia Chaudry kept her 7-year-old daughter home from her private Islamic school in Maryland on Thursday, fearing anti-Muslim backlash from Wednesdayâs massacre nearly 3,000 miles away in San Bernardino, Calif.
âI think we are all feeling exhausted and very vulnerable,â said Chaudry, a lawyer and national security fellow at the New America Foundation. âIâm angry at those people who did this attack. And Iâm angry at how this is being politicized. Everything boils down to, âWe should fear Muslims. And they shouldnât be here.â â
American Muslims say they are living through an intensely painful moment and feel growing anti-Muslim sentiment after the recent Islamic State attacks in Paris and this weekâs San Bernardino shootings, carried out by a Muslim husband and wife.
Maybe instead of calling their feelings “backlash”, perhaps “guilt” is a more appropriate word, hmmm?
> I also don’t see a whole lot of outrage from the so-called “muslim community” against the attack, and I suspect that a lot of the potential for anti-muslim sentiments would be eliminated if that outrage were apparent.
Spot on.
The media, tired of waiting for the racism & bigotry that characterizes America to rear its ugly head, have decided to begin manufacturing it.
Its just representative of what we all know is there, after all. /s
If they truly feel unwelcome here maybe they should go back to where they came from.
Or they could be fighting those that are giving them a bad reputation .
I guess she should report these horrific attacks done to muslims by US citizens to Loretta Lynch. She’s waiting at the jail and ready to toss the keys away if these innocent little pieces of jihadis feel uncomfortable or bullied.
Tough.
The hell with that...they should just get out!
Just as I suspected.
Then stand up and tell the truth. Tell why you came to America instead of staying in the home of the peaceful cult.
Exactly, you almost never hear them speaking out against the violence. After 9/11, the smoke had not even cleared before they were whining, “They’d better not start profiling Muslims because of this!” We’re supposed to sob with sympathy for Muslims who are “profiled” or getting dirty looks, while meanwhile, their victims are getting slaughtered.
I DON’T CARE WHAT MUSLIMS FEEL!
>>They were just muslims.<<
“moderate” muslims are practicing a different religion.
There are 2 kinds of muslims: those that behead and kill and those who wish they could.
Chaudry is an activist with some outfit called “The New America”. This article is nothing more than propaganda.
An excellent analogy, only multiply the force and danger by 1000. Sein Fein represented a geographically and ideologically limited conflict in part of Ireland. Islam is an ideological powerhouse around the world - and Obama wants to make CAIR the official US spokesmen and powerbroker for Islam in the USA (and if you look at US foreign policy, arguably elsewhere too). People like the Kennedys or Chris Dodd had connections with Sinn Fein, but Sinn Fein NEVER had the deep, direct and immediate backing of the US Government, particularly DOJ and DHS, that Obama has given to CAIR. This level of promotion became clear to me upon seeing the amazing national-stage press-conference CAIR gave on December 2 - only hours after this national emergency took place.
Muslims hate being held responsible for the acts that they advocate and celebrate, imagine that.
We didn’t send US grunts to war for the interests of Sinn Fein.
Can’t say that for the Saudis and MB’s.
Maybe the muslim clerks in 7-11s in Maryland shouldn’t throw the change at you after noticing the cross on your neck.
I wish they really WERE feeling intense backlash.
Your words be-atch
