Trump’s fans are excited to rally — but they’re not sure they’ll show up to vote
The Washington Post ^ | DECEMBER 27, 2015 | By Jenna Johnson

Trump’s unexpected and sustained popularity has, at least in part, been fueled by his appeal to a voting bloc that seems to be emerging: blue-collar workers without college degrees who are slightly younger than the traditional Republican voter. Many say they haven’t cared about politics until now, as they flock to Trump rallies like groupies to a rock concert, read his books, buy his products, quote his jokes and follow his social-media accounts.

But is their devotion to Trump deep enough to vote?

For those who don’t regularly vote in primaries, doing so for the first time is a hurdle — especially in Iowa, which uses a caucus system that can intimidate first-timers.

In states with early primary contests, Trump’s staffers are trying to teach their supporters how to vote and get a commitment that they actually will. Before each rally here, Trump’s state co-chairs walk the crowd through how the caucuses work and urge them to attend. But they are also hoping word will spread through social media and in conversations after church, at the school bus stop, during coffee breaks and over holiday dinners.

>>Sarah was the reason but what they did to her they’re trying with Trump. Fortunately he’s ready for them

Yes, and he also has the wealth and previously popular recognition to fight them. I think given the same, Sarah would have been almost just as great.

One day she was almost ready to enter the race for president, and the next day she wasn’t. Her entire demeanor changed, she was very serious and sad. Knowing how the powers that be make threats against candidates’ family if they don’t want you to run, this is what I surmise happened to Sarah.

With Trump, let’s hope and pray he maintains his own private security, like a impenetrable ring around him and his family first, with the Secret Service outside of that ring!

“Obama said he’s going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states. There are 57 Islamic states. So did Obama just lose his bearings, or was this a more telling slip, ladies and gentlemen?”

OMG, I didn’t know about this when the 57 number was reported. This Islamic tie was certainly suppressed by the MSM!

In honestly though, I do have to point out that when he mentioned he had visited 57 states and still had one more to go, plus he wasn’t going to visit two, that the end result is 60 states.

He didn’t actually address just 57, as so many folks think he did.

Obama won by getting a lot of people who normally didn’t vote out the the polls for the primaries and the general. Trump is energizing the same kind of people, people who normally don’t turn out for elections. His staff knows that Trump’s fortunes will rise or fall based on getting them to the polls. Time will tell how successful they are.

That is what I thought... Sarah was threatened. Someday we may find out if this is what happened.

In Iowa, which is what this article focuses on, it’s a caucus.

The story was specifically about Iowa. You were commenting on an article written about Iowa. And the reporter was having trouble finding people at Trump’s Iowa rallies who would go to the Iowa GOP caucus.

Straw man? No, the main subject...

It’s not only about Iowa, although the author gets around to mentioning Iowa specifics at the end.

The only blurb saying Iowa in the part quoted was “especially in Iowa”, but was about all the early voting states.

You said ““So what you, and all the others saying the same thing, are claiming is that Trump is going to win Iowa handily because of the size of his crowds, right?””

That’s a straw man distraction because I never said 1) he’d win Iowa or 2) anything about his crowd sizes.

You are unsuccessfully trying to make me argue something I never said.

a liberal tactic

California stands a very good chance of going Republican for the first time since Reagan. LINK

It’s like Benghazi-Gate has to be swept under the carpet at any cost preventing the DNC from sinking slowly like a Titanic. The Trump movement is the target same way!!!
