Look, if ever there was an election where a true conservative can be elected this is the year.

That is true.

However, I don't see a "true" conservative anywhere in sight that has a chance to win this election. My first choice this election cycle is Mr. Cruz. I do not think he can win this race. The why of that is multi-fold, but the "last straw" is the fact he was not intelligent enough to play down the Beck "endorsement" and his (Beck's) insane antics that followed in just the last few days.

I'll take Mr. Trump at his word and if he follows through, we will at least point the "political compass" of this country back towards the center and hopefully more.

If he does not keep his word, it really wouldn't matter as Mr. Cruz has little to no chance to win this election, and the endgame is upon us with the left holding all the cards the next 4-8 years.

In any case, I believe that if we don't start moving back to the other side of the political spectrum as a whole, this country will descend into anarchy and the overall violence and bloodshed will finish our Republic.

You, and the bulk of the insistent Cruz supporters on this site, are adamant that we MUST have Mr. Cruz or Armageddon will commence, but I believe that you have to work with what you have. Mr. Cruz has the correct mindset and ambitions, for the most part, but he does not have that which is necessary to finish the race as a winner. As much as I wish he could be the next POTUS, I realistically see that it is not going to happen, regardless of Mr. Trump.

Is this based purely on emotion? Or do you have anything factual to back it up?

As for your NWO comment, this may come in handy: AFDB

Build the wall. I firmly believe he will have contractors with equipment ready to go day 1.

Maybe. Maybe not, but in any case he won't do any more or any less on this than Ted Cruz, unless he pays for it himself. He won't do that. He doesn't pay for anything himself unless he has to.

Kick ISIS to Hell.....I firmly believe we will FINALLY fight ISIS without the stupid rules that have negatively allowed our military to fight.

More than carpet bombing them until the sand glows in the night? I trust Ted Cruz on this issue far more than I do Trump who has business interests throughout the Islamic world.

Immigration.....at least he is going to stop illegal immigration and VISA programs and see what the heck is wrong with the programs.

Trump proposes touch-back amnesty. With Cruz, there is no amnesty at all. Cruz is stronger on illegal immigration than Trump, and he has owned the issue far longer. I have to go with Cruz on this issue as well.

In short, Cruz is stronger and more credible that Trump on all three of these issues.

So, I'll follow my heart and brain (both in alignment) on this choice.

Plus: Supreme Court nominations: advantage Cruz Reining in Executive regulation: advantage Cruz Equitable tax plan: advantage Cruz Jobs: advantage Cruz String America: advantage Cruz

In 1952, they said “Taft Can’t Win”. Though I expect to vote for Cruz, I have no illusions that he will be around much longer in the race.

Get Conservatives in Congress, but not one in the White House? What’s the point?

Trump is the candidate of the establishment. It’s all a bunch of Kabuki theater. But Lott, Dole, McConnell, Hastert, Hatch, Burr... they all side with Trump over Cruz. Because Trump thinks Republicans haven’t given away the farm ENOUGH in their dealings with Democrats.

The personal attacks and “I’m going home” says I struck a nerve.

I am in a small private business and we don’t dontate to politicians whose efforts run counter to our company’s interest, regardless of party. If they are running or in power, we just keep quiet.

Since 1999, a rough scan shows he has been donating exclusively Republican since October 2010, yet overall he has donated more to Democrats than Republicans.

In that time, Trump has donated $93,000 to either the Democrat Congressional Committee or the Democrat Senatorial Commitee. He was not even greasing the palm of a local politician with those. But when he did go local, Rangel got more than Shumer.

Interestingly, the personal biggest winner is McConnell. Between Kentuicans for Strong Leadership and McConnell, he donated a total of $65,400. All in 2013 and 2014, when the tea party was trying to defeat him in the primary. Trump fought us then. Hard.

The funniest one was to “Friends of Weiner”, who got almost $5,000.

Would you honestly accept this donation history from any other Republican candidate? Or would it be troubling?

Cruz's problem is people like you denying him the nomination.

If Cruz is the nominee he will whip any possible Democrat candidate in the general. Like a threadbare rug.

Of course, it’s not based on an emotion. You’re projecting your weaknesses onto others who see through your candidate.

Do Cruz supporters have anything besides insults & misrepresentations? You certainly don’t answer legitimate questions or concerns- anymore than he does.

I’m not going to go down the list for the umpteen billionth time. You’re too brainwashed to comprehend it anyway.

A person only needs to lie to me once. I’ve actually lost count of the deceptions, omissions, & outright lies Cruz has told- not to mention the revoltingly enlightening videos he put on you tube so that he could skirt the law about communicating with his PAC. This guy is as blatant & arrogant as 0bama ever thought about being.

I’m not as skillzed as you, but here’s a little linky-poo for you, too.

You can’t refute this one because Isara has already posted about Mike Bickle’s endorsement yesterday.

Don’t get me wrong. I certainly hope so.

What troubles me is I look at his political record and not just the current campaign sales pitch. His record, politically, is based solely on was he has said, written and acted on with political donations.

But Tump supporters, it seems, cannot allow themselves to discuss these areas. They respond with attacks and insults.

Trump keeps saying that he will NOT take a salary and neither will Icahn. You have a problem with that?

Just imagine a President TRUMP...he and the family aren't about to take WHOLE LOT OF WORLD TRIP VACATIONS, with paying for them. And he makes fum of Obama playing all that gold instead of actually working.

What on earth does the second sentence mean?

But still, the schadenfreude is going to be wonderful.

Open your eyes and discard your fanaticism. Your belief is not realistic.

As intelligent as he is, he cannot withstand what will be coming his way if he ends up winning the nomination. His “enthusiasm” factor does not rise anywhere near the necessary level to pull off a win.

And I would like nothing more than for him to be the next POTUS (providing he dumps Beck ASAP), but I the obstacle course he must traverse is prohibitive at this point in time.
