A new Reuters poll of Republicans shows that GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has expanded his national lead over rivals since his Jan. 19 endorsement by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
The new poll of 2,508 Republicans, taken over several days, showed Trump at 40 percent and Cruz sharply down to 10.5 percent. That's a 29.5-point margin.
Reuters' Jan. 19 results showed Trump at 33 percent to Cruz's 16 percent, which was a 17-point margin.
The Reuters poll is here, and can be adjusted to show the candidates' popularity among various subgroups. For example, Trump scored 38.4 percent among marrieds, 39 percent among people with an income of $50,000 to $70,000, 37 percent among people who earn above $150,000, and 36 percent among people older than 60.

LOL!!
I’ll remember some of the hateful comments directed at me as a Trump supporter.
I don’t plan on holding that against Cruz though. It’s not his fault some of his followers are so hateful and nasty.
That has to be true, because I read it here.......
A lot.
bump
They are still having dreams that something will happen and Trump will drop out....they just don’t understand about ‘Cold Anger’ do they???
GO.TRUMP.GO!!! ALL THE WAY TO THE OVAL OFFICE!!!
I know in the past the party had a bigger voice in VP choice but tell me, after everything you’ve seen from Trump vs. GOPe, do you see a contested decision on who should be the VP ending with him giving in to someone they’ve chosen?
I don’t. And if the GOPe decided to only half-heartedly endorse him (or less, to not endorse him at all) I see him calling them out in the media by name.
He’s not playing by their rules. It’s his football.
The opponents are visibly shaken. LOL
That is my take too. Trump/GOPe. Kasick (Ohio), Rubio (Florida), Christy (New Jersey) all make sense however I do not think Trump will need help winning Florida so I rule Rubio out. I am thinking a women as VP, for help with the womens' vote.
Above is a link to your excellent, excellent post.
I’ve been saying since day one - the only way to get rid of Trump is to treat him like an internet troll. There is no victory in engaging a troll. The only way to “win” is to ignore it. In the same way, the only way they’ll “take down” Trump is to ignore him. And they won’t. And he’ll win.
We are hoping you can help others here deal with it too after Trump
wins Iowa.
With tails tucked...
‘With as much as Trump’s lead is, he doesn’t so much ‘need’ anyone for the election. He’ll want someone who can help him after heâs elected.’
I agree with that part of what you said.
Not sure if he’ll choose Cruz, and Cruz seems too energetic and too much of a self-starter to be a VP.
But back to what I agree with. Trump, as a business man, wants his employees to be productive, useful. He probably hasn’t ever needed celebrity-employees in his life. So it would go against his nature to choose a VP out of gamesmanship.
Tails tucked. Ha!
Only paid Cruz campaign workers remain.
Bump!
“If none of the establishment get out of the race we will know they are going for a brokered convention.”
Definitely. Jeb’s not hanging in there looking all pitiful for nothing. Just biding his time until the RNC can pull a rabbit out of the hat and anoint him as the candidate. I’d love to be a fly on the wall during their strategy meetings just to know what’s up.
If they’d simply read the 1790 and 1795 laws, they’d see that even the Founders didn’t AUTOMATICALLY call the child born overseas to a US citizen a US citizen. Anyone can see that it goes on and says: PROVIDED. In fact, there are 2 provisions.
That is not the case at the time with a child born inside the US with 2 US citizen parents. There were no “provisions”.
The part about “born overseas” is always noted, but the “provisions” are totally ignored (blackballed?)
“Is all the Trump/Cruz bitterness gonna give us Trump/Rubio 2016?”
Maybe. I really really really do not like Rubio. His persona seems a little on the smarmy side to me. Maybe his character is OK, although not great. Maybe Trump has someone waiting in the wings who may be someone we’ve almost never heard of, but excellent.
If it is not Cruz I think Trump will go outside the box!!! The only person I can see Trump forming a successful alliance with is Cruz!! I don’t see Trump having the ability to REALLY get along and work with any of the others I would love to see a Scott Walker VP he has been VERY successful T cleaning out the government cesspool in Wisconsin!!!
