Unbelievable – Ted Cruz Campaign Sends Out Personal “Shaming Letters” To Iowa Voters…
conservativetreehouse ^ | 1/30/2016 | sundance

Posted on 01/29/2016 10:28:45 PM PST by 20yearsofinternet

The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.

The text reads:

"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".

In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler confirmed to IJ Review that the mailer was theirs in a phone call Friday evening, saying that the targeting had been “very narrow, but the caucuses are important and we want people who haven’t voted before to vote.”

But they weren’t likely to vote anyway. Most likely they have selected a small amount of people who they think are likely to vote for Cruz but have poor voting records. The only ones Tweeting about it are ones who they mistakenly thought were for Cruz but were actually Rubio leaners. It’s telling that no Trump supporter has tweeted it, because they were probably able to rule out moderate voters from their targetting, knowing moderate voters are not likely to go for Cruz.

These are clearly people not likely to vote. Every tactic has probably already been tried to motivate them. So this is a last-resort effort. It might be the only motivation they understand to actually get involved and stop the liberal takeover of America.

If someone is too lazy to vote I would assume that they are liberals and shouldn't be encouraged to vote anyway. Either way this is absolutely obnoxious and will not accomplish anything other than pissing people off.

Mmm. yes, it says on the conservative tree house page that his campaign manager has apparently admitted to this.

I cannot even get my head around this.

If this is for real, and I have to assume at this point that it is, then this is the DUMBEST thing I have ever seen anyone do.

This is dumber than Howard Dean’s scream. This is dumber than John Kerry’s space suit and Michael Dukakis’s tank.

This is dumber than having Glenn Beck campaign for you.

This makes Ted Cruz a CREEP.

Not a nasty guy, but worse, a damn creep.

Wow!

Another brilliant tactic by the smartest man ever. I put this right up there with insulting everyone in and from the state of New York. Way to go Cruz! The Democrats are shaking in their boots at the thought of facing Ted, eh, in the general.

I understand it is a public record, but I would be offended if I received this in the mail.

I can’t see how this will help Sen. Cruz. I like the guy but I would be pissed off if I received one of these in the mail (which I won’t, because I do not live in Iowa).

Wow, is all I can say. Do we know for sure that these weren’t sent by Mitch McConnell’s imps? Looks like something they would do. Remember Mississippi. However, if so, this would be considered mail fruad and is a federal offense.

So if sending you mail is “stalking,” what do you consider it when they call you and knock on your door?

This is the much talked about ground game.

He is targeting people likely to vote for him based on data they analyze from multiple sources.

People concerned about privacy should look into the services Robert Mercer is providing.

I have heard where Cruz is taking a page out of the obama campaign where they looked at all of the data and based their get-out-the-vote models on obama’s successful model.

This flyer strikes me as one of those Publishing House things. “You Only Have TWO Days Left to submit your lucky number for the ONE MILLION DOLLARS we have reserved for you in the name of JACK JOHNSON!”
.
.
.
.
.
And way at the bottom: (The check for one million dollars will be made out to Jack Johnson if your number matches the number drawn on Jan 21, 2017. Odds of winning are 1:700,000,000)

But - I guess it has a proven marketing technique - although in poor taste if you ask me. Just like the sweepstakes are.

“That ain’t gonna work.”

I beg to differ. It would motivate me to vote against the supercilious prick who tried to twist my arm in such a way. They will regret this desperate stunt for a long time.

Conservatives with poor voting records need to get themselves snapped out of it. The normal tactics clearly haven’t worked for them so they need some tough love.

Ugh. For real? Case closed then.

He truly is a political scumbag.

Ha...that was apparent from his team knocking on doors touting for votes on Christmas day
