I think we're being miss-directed by the word, "conservative"

Going to take a lot of sincere prayer and fasting, then. Presidents like Lincoln and even FDR called for that. When has Obama even breathed anything similar?

Take note of the curse in Jeremiah 17:5, and apply it to the elections here.

He said he’s going to stop muslim immigration as a whole. And also that a wall would be built.

He never said a wall would be the single solution.

Anyone can cherry pick. Try reading the inconvenient facts, too.

How many so-called independent businessmen are fine with the crony system in place now, derived from Lenin’s New Economic Policy to be frank?

WHY did the kids flock to obama and flock NOW to bernie ?

To me it’s all about whether one is for limited, constitutional government, or not.

I have been a Conservative since I was a teenager; but even so my manner of expressing that Conservatism on particular issues, gradually evolved between ages 12 and 16. If you insist on holding every previous mistaken sentiment against another evolving conservative, you are embracing a methodology that will make our recovery of the American purpose impossible. The vast majority have been conditioned to accept all sorts of things that would have been anathema to the Founding Fathers.

Indeed, the whole "politically correct," idiocy, which Trump derides, is a construct to defeat the possibility of a general wake-up, across the board.

To the extent that Trump still has any ideas that come from the general mass conditioning that the Leftist media & academia have been promoting; the best way to deal with that is for other Conservatives to work with him, and in that association, discuss the issues. He is a "deal maker." That can just as easily be an opening to reach him, as an approach that most of those whom he now derides have used to surrender the heritage that he now so forcibly champions.

Labels are a tool to distract from arguing issues on the merits.

Yeah, like 'natural born', and 'original intent' of the Constitution. Never ever thought it would be 'conservative' to ignore those merits.

"Another excuse offered up by a TRUMP (PRAISE BE TO HIS NAME!) supporter for Trump's obvious lack of grounding in conservative principle."

Begone, you plebeian mob of immoral Trump trash! Your "betters" have spoken!

No, I did not say that. Remember that nobody can rise to the leadership of a country without God’s involvement. It is up to the leader to rely on the God who put him there subsequently, and the way this country is set up, it is up to the individual to also rely on God and not on man. The rally cry for the establishment of the USA was not “no king but Jesus” without reason, after all.

Listen to his plan as stated by himself or his son Eric. Both have repeatedly said that an expedited return for all of the “good ones” he kicks out is part of the plan. Basically if you weren’t a criminal (beyond coming here illegally), he wants you to come back legally. Both have used the word “expedited” to describe the fashion in how the former illegals will return. He wants them all back and he wants it done quickly. This is called touchback amnesty.

Has Trump given any real indication that he wants smaller govenrment? His immigration plan will take a long time (unless he somehow ends due process) and tens of billions of dollars to build a massive wall and to round up and push 11 million illegals through our court system. For healthcare he wants something government controlled for the poor, just not Obamacare. His support of Kelo and eminent domain for commercial use shows he wants the government picking winners and losers. His support for affirmative action shows he wants government involved in employment. He supported bank bailouts. In his eyes government isn’t the problem. The problem is he isn’t the one running it.

He’s offered some insight into the court he’d want. He thinks Scalia is bad and Clarence Thomas is pretty good. He thinks a good example for the court would be a pro-abortion activist judge. He currently believes in Kelo and affirmative action. He only converted on gun bans and abortion a couple years ago when contemplating running for office. What sorts of judges would we get with those beliefs?

The founding fathers were not simpatico. Jefferson didn't really like Hamilton and in the end God was only mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. Conservatism today isn't even the conservatism of Reagan, who raised the payroll tax to pay for Social Security and hit Japan with tariffs. Today, conservatism is basically running your mouth, either on the radio or in an empty Senate chamber.

If Trump actually follows through on what he claims he will do, he would truly be a Reagan conservative and then some. Because Trump would accomplish things Reagan failed to do, like build the wall, deport illegals and shrink government.

Personally, I am sick of hearing about running your mouth and being religious as the definition of conservatism, especially when there is a track record of only running your mouth, ala Ted Cruz.

“If he builds the wall and closes the immigration door to muslims ... he will have accomplished more than any president since Kennedy”

And if he gets elected and just reverts back the the same NYC liberal he always was?

Bottom line is there is no telling what he will do!
