Article claims that Cruz' citizenship papers are under seal, and he may not even be able to sit as a Senator.
The fact is that someone, at some point, is going to make Cruz' place of birth an issue, and this is far more meatier than the Obama birther issue.
you really think it changes votes?
well, I guess it does, because ted was a hero a year ago and now he’s public enemy no 1 :)
He can’t because that big fat seal won’t get up.
I am not sure that it matters. Cruz was a Canadian citizen at birth and remained one for 43 years until 2014. He is not a US NBC regardless of what his mother did. Obama, like Cruz, had a US citizen mother. There were a bunch of people trying to prove he was foreign born because if that could be proven it would have made him ineligible to be president. Cruz also had a US citizen mother and was undoubtedly born outside the US. He is no more eligible for the US presidency than Obama would be if it could be proven he was born in Kenya.
No real Freeper is for Trump. Only the ones taken over by the pod people.
Cruz will do anything to make sure there’s nothing between him at the DC Trough.
Yes, even before Cruz announced he was running, back when people were urging him to get into the race. One thing I can say about JB Williams is that he is vehemently pro-constitution and his arguments come from his studying it.
Begs the question, is Cruz (who also knows the truth) a spoiler for the GOPe or the Dems? If he does have a "Consular Report of Birth Abroad", why would he not release it?
In the U.S., you have to be here 5 years to become a citizen, but only 3 if your are married to an American citizen. Since Cruz’ Dad had taken out Canadian citizenship, I wonder if Canadian laws have a lesser time needed to be in the country if the female partner is married to a Canadian?
LOL, ok, I see.
The Consular Report of a Foreign Birth Abroad does not GRANT anyone citizenship. It is simply verification of citizenship which is issued to people who are born with the status of US citizen in another country.
Not having one could cause problems verifying citizenship in the future, but not having one does not remove citizenship status. The same information that would qualify Cruz for a CRFBA would serve as proof of citizenship otherwise, namely, he was born to an American citizen who by age and residency requirements met the criteria to pass her citizenship to him.
The debate about whether he is ‘natural born’ or not may be legitimate, although the reign of the Usurper in office now makes that a moot point IMHO, but since the circumstances of Cruz’s birth are well known and meet the citizenship requirements, he is a citizen with or without a CRFBA.

Tucker, I’m an attorney, I’ve done election law, and you can’t just go get an adjudication on natural born citizen status. There’s no case or controversy, no opposing party with standing, and even if there were, SCOTUS would likely punt because of the political question doctrine. Trump is being cynical and manipulative by dangling that out there. He and Cruz both know Cruz can’t get that to happen on his own. So he’s doing it to make Cruz look like he’s holding back, and now Trump can come along and play the hero by “forcing” that shifty Cruz character to clear things up. Very cynical. But young people are easily misled. It’s hard for them in their inexperience to believe anyone could be that manipulative. But they can. Sad to watch so many folks being misled.
Peace,
SR
What citizenship papers? Do you have âcitizenship papersâ?
Certainly we have ringers amongst us. But, we have plenty of long time Freepers who are Trump supporters. Many real conservatives left long ago.
It has been stated on F.R. that altho’ Cruz probably re-entered the U.S. on a tourist visa around age 4, and unlikely with a U.S. Passport. Ted must have requested and received a CRBA in Texas around age 16 or 17 to get a U.S. passport to travel to England with his H.S. group. That may mean he is eligible to be a Senator, but was still a dual national at that time until 2014 when he renounced his Canadian citizenship. He held dual nationality right up until 2014, making it a bit of a “sticky wicket” to permit a run for President IMO, and he will face difficulties if he gets the nomination from the Dem. side.
“Give it a rest.”
Obama and Cruz had Citizen mothers. But, Obama had to fabricate a birth certificate claiming to have born in the states to be natural born. Are the Cruz followers saying that Obama could have been born in Kenya and he would still be a NBC? They want it both ways. Either foreigners can be President, or they can’t.
