If He Wins, Do We Stand With Trump?
RedState ^ | 2/21/2016 | Joe Cunningham

It's the million dollar question as we look to the possibility that Donald Trump is somehow the nominee: Do we as Republicans stand with him? Do we circle the wagons? Do we overlook everything in his past and say "You know what? Better than a Democrat."

The answer, for me at least, is decidedly "No."

Yep, I’m not a Cruz guy, in fact, I’ve gone from liking him a lot to actively disliking him, but I would vote for him in a heartbeat if he got the nomination. The “Free S**t Army” is more vocal and active than ever, and need to be staved off, unless we just want to go ahead and admit we want to be the next Venezuela. I’ll swallow my pride and preferences to get the job done and hopefully avoid that.

Trump is a terrible candidate. I don’t agree with much of what he says. Compared to Clinton or Sanders, I would take Trump any day of the week.

Strip everything else away and you have two very different visions. Clinton wants the government to do more and Trump wants the government to do less. Clinton doesn’t want to hear about securing our boarders....Trump knows it is important. Clinton doesn’t give a damn about deficits...Trump knows better. If the federal government gets those two issues right, then they can stay the F out of the way on everything else. Trump is actually just the guy to do that.

“I was going to vote for a conservative for president”

You mean the TPA voting Cruz.

That vote was instinctual for him.

The trade agreements have destroyed the United States economy.

Immigration is destroying the country. If it is not stopped, a conservative (or white male) will never be elected again. This will be our last real election.

I am more conservative than Reagan. I will vote for Trump.

So many folks who attacked Trump in the feedback section seem to be saying, my ideology first over practical realities.

Every single “Conservative” who refuses to back Trump are basically saying, ignore the horse leading the pack, I stand for a Democratic, first time woman in the White House who will finish off this country, what Obama has started.

So, stick to your guns “True” Conservatives and watch the country fall to Hilliary. Is that what we all want?

“Too many babies on our side who go sulking all the time”

After another miserable 4 years of Obama, they’re still prepared to do the same all over again.

After being shamed into voting for McCain, and then Romney, 3rd time will not be a charm.

I will be voting in November for the most CONSERVATIVE candidate on the entire ballot. I doubt seriously that will be Trump.

Trump will win without your vote. It’s ok if you stay home.

The “wise” sage Earl Pitts once said, “If you ain’t gonna vote right then don’t vote!” Have a great day :)

I’ll stand with Trump, I won’t stand with Rubio.

Not even against Hillary.

Well I will not stand with Trump against Hillary then.

We are even

That’s up to you, certainly, but I think it’s unfair to compare Trump to those two. McCain and Romney were the GOPe and media-ordained selections. The GOPe and media hate Trump with a viciousness I’ve never really seen shown toward a frontrunner in my lifetime.

>>Somebody convince me that Trumplestiltskin is not a Democratic plant.

You’ve already convinced yourself that he is.

Frankly, at this point a “Democratic plant” who is a JFK type of Democrat would be better than the various flavored of Progressives that we have in both parties who control Congress, infect colleges, sit on federal benches, and control the myriad of federal law enforcement agencies.

But Trump isn’t a “ plant”. He is a businessman who had to deal with whatever corrupt politicians were in office when he needed the wheels to turn. You can tell that he has nothing but contempt for those people, just as you and I do.

The Donald is not the typical RINO, in that he caves completely and immediately to demands from the liberal Democrats that “compromise” may only be achieved by total capitulation and surrender. The Donald at least looks at negotiations as something in which he gets something he wants a lot in exchange for something that the Democrats want even more, and The Donald can frame the negotiations in such a way the Democrats tend to overplay their hand.

The Donald knows how the game is played, having funded both sides over the years, and he also knows which of the Democrats are the most desperate of the supplicants going hat in hand to the big donors. A few words over a phone call, and suddenly the desperate Democrats realize who is pulling the strings, but not why, and they lapse into sullen silence or reluctant compliance with the objective The Donald is striving for.

Cronyism? Maybe. But instead of working exclusively and unilaterally for liberal Democrat objectives, suddenly the bribes are distributed more equitably, and the case may be judged on its merits and not only by those who have the deepest pockets available to them.

Purity of motives is largely reserved for those below the age of six.

It looks like 60% of the people on this site are on board with funding Planned Parenthood and changing the name of ObamaCare to TrumpCare and pretending those things will make America great.

Looks like TedState is all-in for Hillary or Sanders if Trump wins. A shame really.

RedState is a synonym for communism, so it makes sense.
