Not sure why all eyes should be on TX when there are other states too, plus TX is not winner takes all.

No way Trump or Rubio can lose in Texas. The only one who can lose is Ted Cruz.

And, just being frank, if he isn’t up by 10+ in his own state, it’s a failure.

It appears here like it’s 29/28/25. Already, there is no other way to interpret that except as a failure.

Listening to the scuttlebutt around here, sounds like there’s no chance for it to be anything BUT.

TX is the only horse race left, I think. Or pretty close. So of course the media will be obsessing over it.

For the life of me, I don’t see the appeal of Rubio.

I think it must be his effeminate, harmless (ball-less) nature and that he doesn't offend anyone. Same as Kaisich, if they thought he could win.

Does it really need to be said? If Cruz somehow manages to lose Texas it is all over for him. The same is true if Rubio loses Florida although that looks far more likely.

Well, you said it and it's true.

“Why?”

because Rubio HAS to get at least 20% of the votes in texas to get ANY texas delegates at all. that’s why.

Isn’t Texas one of the states where a candidate who gets a majority (over 50%) gets all of the delegates, but if there is only a plurality, the leading candidate and all others get proportional representation? Neither Cruz nor Trump will get over 50% in Texas, so if they’re close, they’ll probably wind up with similar numbers of delegates from the state.

Wouldn’t a one percentage point be statistical dead heat?

Your description is close enough. 50% of the state gets 47 delegates, 50% of each congressional district (there are 36 congressional districts) gets 3 delegates per district. Less than that (50%) margin to the winner and the CD delegates are distributed proportionally to the top two. It's possible for three candidates to get CD delegates, but that's down in the weeds in this race.

It's a mystery to me too. It seems like every few years, party higher-ups (in both parties) designate some young political upstart as their Golden Boy. The decision is completely arbitrary, because the Golden Boys certainly aren't distinguished by any actual achievements. Certainly Rubio has none to speak of, unless you want to call being Chuck Schumer's busom friend on amnesty for illegals an "accomplishment."

At Trump’s inaugural next January, they will run the Beck reaction clip as a highlight of the 2016 election season. hahahahaha

That’s some string of goofs. I wonder how many “trusting Texans” will actually consider all those points you made? And then I must also wonder what the “trusting Texans” will think of their governor for still supporting Cruz in spite of these revelations. This will be interesting.

They also thought Perry was great-—he was the longest-serving Texas governor. I did hear Abbott say they were friends since he was AG and Cruz was Solicitor General.

Other Texans say the Cruz in Texas is not the Cruz seen on the 2016 circuit.....didn’t wear his religion on his sleeve-—no courting evangelical bloc votes. None of the weird Glenn Beck stuff...that God took Scalia to help Cruz get elected president.

These Texans also say he didn’t play dirty tricks back then....little did they know. He/s very convincing.

This is a pattern w/ Cruz-—typical of the narcissistic personality....the ability to wholly engage others in your activities. Cruz/s verbal fluency borders on glibness. He/s johnny-on-the-spot....exploiting situations to make himself look good.

He has this obsessive need to always be right, to create a favorable impression on others...... and, above all..... he has to win. His most formidable weapon: a wealth of words that mesmerizes others. He/s a talented and intimidating salesman.

All of his educators say Cruz was academically gifted. He was not only the brightest student they had, but he was mature and poised w/ a compelling inner calmness.

A very troubling description among students of human behavior.

Yup, we in Alabama go to the polls on super Tuesday. Basically, I have not heard ONE PERSON, NOT ONE, discussing the elections. No one seems to care. No one is excited over any of the candidates. The only signs I see out are ones for local judges offices. A couple for our congress critter Mike Rogers, who needs his sorry butt kicked for sitting on it so much. I slam him with emails and he sends back lame excuses. Yup, no one seems to give a care. No one to get excited about it seems.

Unless TX has an open primary (could a person vote for a D and an R?), if Cruz loses TX, put a fork in him; we're done.
