Apparently so. Or we can vote to end the birth right citizenship debate right here and now by making the little anchor baby POTUS.

I think the good prince’s mother may have had to forego US citizenship to go be a queen somewhere...

No Prince Hashim is not a NBC. His mother renounced her citizenship when she got married and as such, Prince Hashim is not even a US citizen.

Good point.

A similar case was the Sultan of Brunei, who maintained a harem of women including desperate Americans seeking easy money. I wonder just how many Natural Born Citizens were spawned in that den of muslim decadence.

And then there are the reverse cases of children of American GI's in southeast asia, unable to prove their lineage on paper but easily identified, and thoroughly abused in life by their 'pure' countrymen.

Natural Born Citizens all over the place! Yep, that's exactly what John Jay meant with that clause.

Just curious: The children that have been born outside the U.S. because their American parents have been stationed overseas while serving in the military-—Are they American citizens?

Prince Hashim ... Is he eligible to run for president?

He is turning 35 this year, but although did have a lot of education in the US, and his mother's family has long roots here, he has not resided in the US for the necessary 14 years.

If he did meet the residency requirement and ran for president it would be sort of like a child of Grace Kelly running for president. The State Department ruled that one of her children was an American citizen.
