If Israel does not take steps to separate from the Palestinians, Jews will continue to be killed in terror attacks and the two-state solution will be in danger, opposition leader Isaac Herzog told US Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday.
Biden met with Herzog before concluding his three-day trip to Israel in a conversation that focused on the current wave of terror and on Biden's impressions on the Palestinian issue based on his talks with leaders during his visit. The US vice president's trip saw him meet both Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas separately. Biden traveled to Jordan on Thursday after concluding his visit in Israel.
Herzog presented his initiative on separating from the Palestinians to Biden, saying that "only separation will bring a halt to terror."
The opposition leader told Biden that his plan is intended to stop the wave of lone wolf terror and preserve the vision of two states for two peoples, "the only vision that will preserve Israel as a Jewish, secure and democratic state."
Herzog's plan calls for completing the security fence around settlement blocs. Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem would be outside the fence.
Herzog told Labor Party activists at a convention in Tel Aviv last month that his plan would "end the third Intifada" and lead to a regional summit on security.

You’re of course correct. Any world history book, unless written by the Communist Left who have been writing fiction propaganda for the past couple of decades, will talk about Palestine as the homeland of the Jews. That was common knowledge millennia.
Palestine is indeed a region harkening back to Biblical times. Mecca is the focus of Islam, a warlike movement that started much, much later. It’s leader was a blood-thirsty psychopath. The biggest value for Islam is telling lies, big and small, all day long and to kill anyone who doesn’t follow your view of who god id. Truly an awful creed.
How is it possible to be on the ground in Jerusalem and say such tripe? What he really wants is to disenfranchise Jews to placate murderous Palis. That is a sure fire recipe for utter disaster. The first rule of child rearing is “never reward bad behavior.” How is this any different?
Silly straw man argument. California's immigrants are not sworn to the destruction of the US and don't go around randomly killing white people because their god tells them to.
At least not the Hispanic ones anyway. California's Muslims immigrants on the other hand have been known to do just that. So I guess if you refined your criteria to just California Muslim immigrants your idea has some justification and merit.
