“I have found EVERY time I have taken mom to the hospital she comes out worse!!!”
Same with my MIL, who would go relatively often. Each time she came home worse than before. When she was about 94 she said absolutely no more hospital trips; whatever will happen, will happen. She actually did get better for a while — got her dignity back, etc. Then Hospice came and tended to her for a while. She died at 97 in her bed.

I am taking care of my Dad now, same thing. Had to put my foot down! LOL
We were taking care of Hubby’s Mom but she had dementia really bad and we had to put her in memory care. She doesn’t recognize us. We visit quite often.
Dad doesn’t have dementia, thank the Lord.
Don’t know but my aunt an obgyn nurse for 40 years says the hospital was over flowing on the full moon. My grandmother predicted by sons birth on the 28 -full moon I was in labor all 24 hours. He was born ten minutes into the 29th. Doctors were off by weeks.

When my dad passed my mom couldn’t bear to leave her house. She has never driven in her life. So I packed my bags and moved in with her. Commuted to work for the better part of a year.
She gradually came to acceptance and moved in with me 3 years ago.
I have not regretted one day of it. She gave everything to her children. We were well loved and taken care of. Sweetest woman on earth. My kids and grands adore their Nana!

I saw plenty of that in real estate. The successful people walked tall, confident in themselves and their work, smiling as if everything was good. They would only associate with the winners (though they were kind to all), never talk negatively about sales or markets, always upbeat. It was a good arena for me, it made me come out of my shyness,gain confidence in myself. Interesting also as a study of people, so much can be learned from the body language.
All that you talked about I see in Trump. His message is always about greatness, even when he has to talk about what is wrong with the country, he never stays too long on the gloom and doom but concentrates on the greatness to be.
I have been trying to locate two things. One is the article on Trump's pilot. Second is the incident Trump mentioned when Christie was on Sweating Rubio.
Im sorry to hear so many here are ill or have family members with issues but unfortunately life does continually seem to offer challenges doesn't it?
I want to mention a few things about the two movies I saw today.
Risen - seen for second time. Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Lord of Rings plus many more) did an excellent job as the Tribune. Tom Felton(Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter) as the aide BOTH did an excellent job in their respective rolls. This movie is not preachy. Portrays the resurrection from the eyes of the Roman Tribune charged by Pilot to find the body of Jesus to put to rest the gossip of his resurrection. Caesar is coming in a few weeks and the populace is in a fierce mood. Highly recommend it. A little artistic flexibility but emotionally charged for me and I did have tears several times in this movie. I liked all were look alike of the people in the region. Jesus was not a golden or red hair softie. He looked like a person from Palestine.
The Young Messiah - another twist on Jesus' hidden years. Again some issues with scripture perhaps but not in a menacing way as one year (7 years old) is portrayed. Another Roman officer (Bean) plays a significant part of the story line. The young boy playing Jesus is adorable. My only fault with this is everyone was anglo-ish. Another one I would highly recommend
Many here know I am a big movie enthusiast. Always enjoyed them but in the 20 years of caregiving my mom Movies were my escape..
Hope to get to bed early as I haven't slept much the past few days. We just had a major storm with heavy rains go over.

Bless you and your Mother. I too have been though that. My Mother had the same thoughts. She pined for my Father for seven years. She died at 92. it is never easy.
