Should Trump and Cruz unite with we the people against the establishment uni-party?

Posted on 03/16/2016 1:31:00 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

The biggest plus is a Trump/Cruz ticket would immediately secure the nomination for us (the majority of the right-leaning grassroots voters), end any possibility of a GOPe betrayal at the convention, and would ensure the Republican party is finally with we the grassroots people (tea party, conservatives, religious people, economic conservatives, business people, middle class, blue collar, national security patriots, etc, ie, a rebirth of the Reagan Coalition) and against the globalist GOP big government establishment. It’d be a yuuuge middle finger to the elite ruling classes of both parties.

And it would have coattails guaranteeing a pro-America landslide against the America-hating Marxists and a strengthening of the Republican majority in the congress and in local and state governments. And finally begin a return to constitutional, pro-America, pro-free-market government and a reversal of the slide into godless socialism and globalism.

A mandate from we the people to secure the borders, enforce the law, deport the illegals, end sanctuary cities, end the war on Christianity, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the regulations, end the war on American industry, end the war on coal gas & oil, bring back a growing economy, bring back manufacturing and jobs, and rebuild the military.

Unlike the GOPe, this is what real Americans want and what both candidates propose doing.

So let’s quit bickering, join forces, and make it happen.

Cruz is not a judge. He will never be a Supreme Court justice.

A vote for Trump counts the same regardless of whether it is cast with gusto or a held nose.

What ultimately matters in November is not how enthusiastic the votes are, but how many. I personally don't think adding Cruz to the ticket will do much for Trump's perceived negatives with the general electorate. You'd energize a few conservatives who likely would have voted for Trump anyway.

Jan Brewer would be a smart pick. Tough on immigration, and likely would help with female swing voters.

I'm not sure what may be gained by that. The delegates committed to Cruz will have to cast their votes for Cruz. It might help Donald get to the 1,237 required delegate mark if Cruz suspended his candidacy, but even that does not ensure Donald becoming the Republican candidate.

How the GOP Could Still Steal Nomination From Trump Even If He Wins 1,237 Delegates

See it is after all just an illusion to make us think this is a government by and for the people. But the respective dominant political Party's are in complete control. That's why a 3rd Party candidate has never won. Though if Donald were to make himself a 3rd Party candidate he might just pull it off.

“Ted’s lead spokesman (Glenn Beck) came out today and said that Ted would NEVER join Trump.”

I have to wonder how much Beck speaks for Cruz at this point.

Beck seems to have been a liability to the campaign. They were tied at the hip early on, but I haven’t seen that much coverage of them together lately.

I think Trump will choose a VP based on how savvy that person is to Washington inner workings and how close that person is to Trump’s ideas.

Someone like Newt or Sessions. Someone who can work with the DC politicians, someone who will be a help in the General Elections and first - someone he will be comfortable with stepping into the Presidency.

That is solely based on what Mr. Trump himself has said about the qualifications he is looking for in a VP.

Cruz is not a judge.

You do not have to be a judge to be a Supreme Court justice. Technically, I don't think you even have to be a lawyer.

If you like Trump, I say give him TWO terms.

Trump has the energy for it...

The two would compliment each other.

Precisely. As big a Trump supporter as I am, I like him because he is destroying the GOP. I don't in any way have any assumptions that he is a Conservative, which is exactly why I want Cruz behind him. I know Cruz is a Conservative. On the other hand, I suspect Cruz is more establishment than he lets on, which is why we need Trump out there. It'll give Cruz 8 years to cement his Conservative chops, and give him the opportunity to show us he can, in fact, go against the establishment grain, exactly what he'll need to get the nod in 2024.

“My feeling on this right now is Trump should wait it out and get his delegates and he can dictate to the turds”

Guess I would be one of those turds. So go to hell.

You don’t have to be a judge to be a supreme court justice. You don’t even have to have a degree in law. There are no requirements listed in the Constitution. My 1 year old son is eligible and could be nominated.

Or, maybe the plan was for Cruz to play it up like he gone over to the GOPe dark side. Then, when he ends up as Trump’s VP, it looks like a true compromise. The outsider Trump accepted an establishment guy (Cruz) as VP.

And Trump and Cruz both get what they want: no REAL establishment guy on the ticket (like Reagan got stuck with in Bush) who would undo all their work one day.

Nah, that’s too much of a conspiracy. Isn’t it?
