Should Trump and Cruz unite with we the people against the establishment uni-party?

Posted on 03/16/2016 1:31:00 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

The biggest plus is a Trump/Cruz ticket would immediately secure the nomination for us (the majority of the right-leaning grassroots voters), end any possibility of a GOPe betrayal at the convention, and would ensure the Republican party is finally with we the grassroots people (tea party, conservatives, religious people, economic conservatives, business people, middle class, blue collar, national security patriots, etc, ie, a rebirth of the Reagan Coalition) and against the globalist GOP big government establishment. It’d be a yuuuge middle finger to the elite ruling classes of both parties.

And it would have coattails guaranteeing a pro-America landslide against the America-hating Marxists and a strengthening of the Republican majority in the congress and in local and state governments. And finally begin a return to constitutional, pro-America, pro-free-market government and a reversal of the slide into godless socialism and globalism.

A mandate from we the people to secure the borders, enforce the law, deport the illegals, end sanctuary cities, end the war on Christianity, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the regulations, end the war on American industry, end the war on coal gas & oil, bring back a growing economy, bring back manufacturing and jobs, and rebuild the military.

Unlike the GOPe, this is what real Americans want and what both candidates propose doing.

So let’s quit bickering, join forces, and make it happen.

I can only hope the two remaining candidates have more sense than some of the posters here.

It would be a winning ticket. Hillary would be left to rot in jail.

Ahh, I see. I think people forget, too, that Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush fought a pretty bitter primary battle. that went all the way until June.

What can I say, wardaddy? I love you and your entire family. You get it, you get America, and you get our beloved ancestry who fought and died in the civil war! (Unlike my embarrassing folks who wrote letters to get out of serving!)

Count me in the handful then, PJ.....BUT I think there is way more than a handful at FR who would NOT want a Trump/Cruz pairing!

How quickly you all forget just last week when Cruz piled on Trump and tried to taint him and his supporters as violent!!!!
.....and the absolute lies he’s told of Trump!......The one of many is how Ted keeps saying, or implying Trump is not a friend of Israel!!!

I am also not forgetting the multitude of vile, hateful comments on FR from Cruz supporters!!!!

Trump has campaigned his heart out......24/7.... For 9 months....
He’s had every bit of garbage thrown at him.....and kept fighting for us!!!!

MR.ROBINSON, .....YOU ARE AN AMAZING MAN.....and I ADMIRE YOUR MANY SELFLESS YEARS OF KEEPING FREE REPUBLIC GOING!!!!

But I will not join the Cruz Crowd.

I have worked too hard and invested too much sweat and tears to want Mr.Trump to align himself with Ted Cruz!!!
I don’t think Mr. Trump would....and I certainly hope not!!!!!

I’m sorry....
If this means I will be evicted from Free Republic, so be it!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Cruz will endorse Trump, but I don’t think Trump can win alone because there are too many people who despise him.

Cruz would definitely take the edge off of that. I don’t know what he could actually do as veep, unless Trump listened to him but at least we could defeat Hillary and the dems.

Jim, they must unite but Ted needs to get clear of the traps he has fallen into.

1. He needs to jettison Neil Bush quickly and any and all ties to the Bush family.

2. He needs to fire the dishonest operators he hired to run his national campaign and ensure they have no opportunity to attach themselves to a Trump-Cruz Administration.

3. He needs to obtain expert declarations from some of the finest jurists in the land to make clear he is eligible (I have always said he is and have referenced materials going back to James Madison). No need for court action, declaratory rulings, just letters from recognized authorities that Donald’s lawyers can review and accept.

4. He needs to make a statement that the Uniparty really does exist in the persons of monied special interests that buy and sell influence, and control politicians and name names, stating that one remaining list will remain undisclosed as long as the names on that list agree to terms laid out by the Trump-Cruz Administration.

5. He needs, with Donald alongside him, to announce that the bought-and-paid-for politicians of whatever party will be targeted not only for 2016 but for all years into the future unless they fall in line to unify behind Trump-Cruz to reform the United States according to America First policies carried out under a strategy to restore strict original constitutional principles in everyday government affairs.

6. He needs to state clearly and loudly that Donald Trump’s plan for America is the correct one and that he as the main partner on the ticket will be working to ENSURE THE TRUMP-CRUZ REFORMATION IS LASTING including efforts to reform America according to its original meanings and intent and that includes promoting an Assembly of States to restore the balance of power among states and federal governments through Article V of the Constitution.

7. He needs to announce bold initiatives that both he and President-To-Be Donald Trump have agreed must be done and that he, Ted Cruz, will take the lead on behalf of President Trump and the American people to create an executive commission to:

a) Transform the Island of Puerto Rico from America’s Greece to America’s Wealth Center by implementing a modified jurisdiction form of HR 25 with mandatory trade protections for all corporations relocating there for the purpose of benefitting from zero percent corporate tax lasting seven years from the time of enactment of the new tax system.

b) To oversee the transformation of the United States and its territories towards full energy independence and clean water supply abundance by working with Congress for special authorization to override political actions of EPA-like political groups who stand in the way, including working closely with the Assembly of States to pass a 30-State Quash Authority under Article V of the Constitution.

c) To oversee the formation of stewardship charters of federal lands to ranchers and farmer associations with first priority to associations comprising individuals and veterans.

Ted needs to make it loud and clear that he will be an active working Vice-President who will be working with Congress to ensure President Trump’s policies and initiatives are lasting and as near to permanent as is humanly possible.

I’m getting excited thinking about that!

Of course, I’d have to take back everything I said about Trump and that would take a while. LOL

Thank you very much, but this is not about Cruz. Or Trump. It’s about the survival of our nation.

I was blessed to get out of the People’s Republic of Austin in 2011 and moved to the Hill Country. Friendlier to Cruz here.

Problem is they cannot pool their delegates. The delegates are committed to Cruz or Trump on the 1st ballot. After that they can vote for whomever they desire. Just as the delegates committed to Rubio, Carson, & others are committed to those candidates on the 1st vote, even though they have dropped out.

Cruz can run again in 4 or 8 or 12 years. He can run, but he can’t win—that was my point.

Since Reagan ran, the GOPe has done everything in their power to ensure another Reagan—an outsider winning the nomination—never happens again.

2016, imho, is the high watermark for Cruz. The only—ONLY—reason has a shot this cycle is because Trump stepped in and blew up the GOPe’s plans (to nominate Jeb) and the GOPe didn’t recognize their plan was blowing up in their face till it was too late.

They won’t make that mistake again. Which is why Cruz can run again in 2020, but he won’t sniff the nomination.

On the other hand, if Trump is elected (with Cruz as VP) they will be the heads of the party and can ensure that when it comes time for Cruz to run for prez in 2024 the rules won’t be stacked against him (in fact, they can stack the rules in Ted’s favor).

Trump’s a fluke (just as Obama was). Cruz can either take advantage of that fluke, or let the system return to normal. Normal as in, stacked against Ted.

Thanks, Jim.

I love your proposal.

There were a lot of idiots on the thread from both camps but, maybe, since you were the one to suggest it, they will get over their anger and bitterness and realize this would be a very good thing.

Winning Ticket.

Effectively they can pool.

The GOPe will not be able to stop 80 90% of the delegates.

No one thought Reagan would be president in the 1970s or Bush I.

No one thought Bibi could come back and be prime minister again in Israel.
