Donald Trump was the clear favorite in todays winner-take-all Arizona primary, even before the Brussels terrorist attacks. The immigration issue and the flood of early voters favors him, as does the fact that some of those early voters will have cast ballots for Marco Rubio before he dropped out last Tuesday night. If they had known Rubio would no longer be a candidate, many of those voters might have gone with Cruz.
But polls have been tricky and often erratic this year (think Michigan and the surprise win of Bernie Sanders). For example, the latest poll showing a 14 point Trump lead appears to oversample Phoenix voters (59 percent of states population vs. 73 percent of those polled). Trump outperfoms his statewide average in the Phoenix area. The Washington Post reports that Cruz could definitely score an upset in Arizona. If that happens or Cruz comes very close here will be the relevant factors, according to the Post.
Cruz has a superior ground game. Neutral observers say his team is a lot more organized than Trump. His state director elected many Republican members of the legislature.
Its a closed primary, meaning only Republicans can vote. Trump has struggled in closed primaries.
Cruz has scored a bunch of late endorsements: Rep. Matt Salmon announced his support last night.
Cruz is still perceived as strong on border security.

Exactly
exactly.
It is the swing states we have to look at and how good did the candidates get out the vote there.
When you have cruz coming third in 3 of them and never winning one single county in two of them , then it does not bode well at all in a general election.
I am here in FL and there is no way cruz would ever win this state. No one likes him or finds him as the establishment pick.
Still waiting for your evidence that Ted Cruz’s 97%-100% conservative/pro-liberty voting record is part of an elaborate conspiracy to fool conservatives into believing that he is really, really conservative so he can deliver them to the GOPe.
File a complaint and put it the "T" box. :)
Unfortunately, no.
Is Obamacare defunded?
[* the stop Trump is really stop the citizens from keeping their country]
Correct
Or Virginia for that matter.
Cruz failed to pull 20% with REPUBLICAN voters in Florida, Ohio, and Virginia. How the heck do you think he’s going to win the general election?
If they had known Rubio would no longer be a candidate, many of those voters might have gone with Cruz.
...
Cruz is turning out to be a lot like Rubio, in a bad way.
I know the fever dreams of trump fans everywhere make them want to believe that Cruz ‘changed’ at about the same time trump did.
The first from being a principled constitutional conservative into a GOPe hack.
The second from being the very personification of a Chrony capitalist into republican demi-god.
I’m pretty sure this is a form of dementia necessitated by the fan-hood overcoming common sense and reason. A way to cope, if you will, for turning their back on what they know is right in order to vote for a reality TV star. Sadly, I think the only remedy will be the fruition of their dreams and the inevitable crash back to reality that follows.
That’s your evidence?
Cruz also can’t win the nomination, and the GOPe isn’t going to give it to him. So, all he is doing is helping the GOPe get rid of Trump, and in so doing, elect HIllary. He has joined with the enemy of conservatives.

Utter nonsense. Not only will he win, but it'll be a landslide, especially after the first debate when he tells Hitlery she's just scared because once he's in office, he'll prosecute her. Game over.
Ted Cruz's fault.
In post 11, is that Underdog?
;-)
OK... got some survey data to back that up?
This is the kind of circular reasoning that causes non-trump fans to shake their heads in wonder.
Cruz is establishment because the establishment is helping him! See, he’s owned by them know!
If trump doesn’t get the nomination they aren’t going to give it to Cruz because he’s an outsider so you really should vote for trump.
I’ll give you fan boys credit though - you have a lot of energy and imagination. If you didn’t the logic fails would make your brains twist into really tight knots.
