Path to certain failure: NeverTrump + NeverCruz = NeverWin = LostSCOTUS = LostFreedom = LostNation

Posted on 04/13/2016 2:36:02 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Captain obvious here again, but NeverTrump/NeverCruz is not the way. We all have our favorites, but don't lose sight of the mission.

The mission on FR is to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our POSTERITY!!

It's a lot bigger than you or me or our personal opinions or egos. It's about the very survival of our nation and the promise of freedom for future generations.

Reagan said that freedom is never more than one generation from extinction and he was 100% correct.

President Clinton or President Sanders means the end of freedom in America.

Do not let freedom expire on our watch!!

Free Republic will support our Republican nominee whoever he is against the godless Marxist/socialist Democrats in November!!

Romney though truly was a milquetoast squish. The blame lies squarely on him.

.... Heck ... at least we will have a lot of happy cheering Democrats and Socialists after the Federal Election. At least for a while anyways .... until they start feeling the effects of what they have done .... Well ... with the help of the GOP that is.

[[But Kasich will be low energy even if he delivers OH.]]

I agree- I see donald picking someone liek Sarah- but only if he feels she is still relevant enough and can garner enough votes for him- I noticed huckabee brown nosing th donald the other day too- looks like huck wants to be considered too- Christie took a real beating by trump=- don’t see that happening- I woudl not be surprised to see a possible rubio choice either- but i think donald did too much damage to Rubio’s image- Who knows, Maybe he’ll choose Bernie

While I don’t share your enthusiasm no cruz, of course I would pull the lever for him.

Well .... There’s one thing the GOP can never be accused of ........ Working together as a team!

I disagree with your premise: that Cruz cannot get a majority of delegates on a 2nd or subsequent ballot. Cruz has been working these delegates for some time now. Plus, these delegates are not some monolithic entity, taking marching orders from some dark Lord of the Establishment. My county commissioner is running for delegate here in PA. He’s been in office for a number of years. He’s always held the line on taxes, and been a solid conservative. I completely believe he would vote for Cruz. I think the delegates will be, on the whole, slightly more conservative than your run-of-the-mill GOP primary voter. Cruz definitely has a good chance to get 1,237 votes at the convention.

Can we at least agree on that Kasich needs to go?!?!

I hope you're not tired of his lame jokes.

I do. We are doing this to defeat Hillary and not LOSE who we are as a people.

Until that is set in stone, which it HARDLY is, I say the guy whom I’ve supported since the day he announced (before really... well hoped at least...) needs to stay in.

It really is that simple. I know Cruz is the right guy for the job. He would kick Hillary’s ass in a debate, and really would offer an exciting, different candidate from any of the trash the Dems put up. I can TRUST what he says. He means what he says. He stands up for what he believes. He believes what I believe.

With Trump, its a shot in the dark. It will be a lesser of two evils vote in November for me if Trump is the nominee. I have NO clue what he will do. He may be the best President we have ever had and I will eat crow every single day for doubting him.

But WHY? Why should I risk something SO important when I have someone so awesome right there.
Sure I would have loved a flat out victory by Cruz. Its likely not going to happen for him, for anyone. That’s what happens when the GOPe runs 17 freaking candidates in an effort to dillute the conservative vote so their made to order pathway for Jeb is clear sailing.

Two things happened which stopped it.
1. The electorate is freaking pissed. Anyone attached to the GOPe was toxic. It pushed a majority of voters to the two outsiders, Cruz and Trump.
2. Trump’s popularity was right at the magic 35%-40% Jeb needed to hit, he took the elections Jeb was supposed to.

It gave Trump a huge surge in the early primaries, primarily due to the crowded field.

Since it has narrowed to 3, he is getting his rear handed to him. Its not even close. This is a telltale sign the electorate does not want him.

Had Rubio dropped out 2 weeks earlier, this really would likely be about over by this point. We’d be wrapping this up in NY and not CA with a Cruz victory. Cruz won’t take NY of course, but he’s going to take a portion of the state.

Remember, its a closed primary which is split by districts, similar to the Texas primary. Voter registration ended in October.

Anyway, we will defeat Hillary.
The GOPe is sunk. They have lost. They are in batten down the hatches mode at this point.
Now we need to pick the best leader for our party, and this country.

In my opinion, that’s Ted Cruz.

Bernie would not surprise me.

And would still vote Trump over Hillary.

Yep. Been my publicly stated position for months now. I did not anticipate how hard I’d have to hold my nose, though. Eagles up!

It’s been great to finally have candidates that act like they want to win the presidency. If I were to make my choice between the leaders based strictly on endorsements I’d have to flip a coin. If R. Reagan and G.H.W Bush managed to table their differences and work together for the good of the country, these favored ones should be able to do the same.

It does not matter what we think, I think we have been asked to tone down our advocacy for Cruz.

The GOPe establishment has a helluva lot more experience than Cruz in working delegates AND manipulating the rules that are designed to ensure an ESTABLISHMENT win.

If this thing gets decided by the convention there is no way Cruz will be the nominee.

That is the best thing to come out of all this mess- the GOPe is running scared- they are fearful of midterm elections now after the boener, then ryan betrayal, plus caving into dear leader for all these years- not standing up against illegal executive orders and treaties that weren’t actual treaties- etc

The party isn’t done for, but it will be reshaped hopefully- we’re almost- almost at a point where the peopel are so fed up they simply want ot clean house- open the windows, air the place out, and start fresh again- An American Spring cleaning so to say

This has been a wild ride for sure-

It is all fraud.

A majority is IMPOSSIBLE. Only a plurality is possible.

Once the game is changed to UnBound, the original game is CANCELLED. That is why the Constitution votes for People NOT Delegates.

A Sealed election CANNOT be unbound.
Delegates and party leaders should be arrested and imprisoned.

Delegate is meaningless fraud.
